Came back after years of not-playing-EVE.
Mouse wheel zooms wrong way around. It was always like this. Which is exactly opposite to Several Other Games, especially the Game That Shall Not Be Named.
I know I can flip it in mouse driver settings, but that breaks every mousewheel-scrollable window, flipping it also there. Not good.
Please please add an UI option to flip the camera zoom from mouse wheel. Helps me stay sane and improves odds I keep my accounts resubbed for more than the 3 months I put in when I resubbed.
Thanks.

Those other games have the switch. EVE does not. The best option would be to have the switch also in EVE. It really should be a tiny little bit of code + one UI element for switching the direction.
Yes, I could switch it other way around in Those Other Games and then spend a month readjusting to the "wrong" way, but I'd rather not, considering how trivial thing we are talking about. |

Why do you want to zoom with the mouse wheel anyway? Use LMB+RMB, it's just better. Oh god. |

+1
And I would most definetly also add the option to increase zoom speed, my mouse gets way too excited each time I need to zoom way out and/or way in. |

I support this idea For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be. |

Perfectly put!
It's not a matter of two different countries driving on different sides of the road as he describes it to be. Only EVE is setting a "law" for this, no one else. Even if "other games are backwards" and "this one is correct", the fact remains that the other games give you the OPTION and that's what WE want!
When you see little flaws in a game like this and realize it has been complained about (Google for the win) for YEARS and no one has even attempted to comment from the development team... yea it pretty much says EVE will ALWAYS be EVE, the "stepchild" MMO with a mediocre population of cliques filled with mostly jerks anywhere "help" is to be found. All the nice players stay out of chat like any other MMO, so you never get any "real" help from the community, just smart aleck remarks.
+1 to the idea of adding some VERY SIMPLE CODE that would make COUNTLESS player's experience better based on a history of forum posts over the last several years that reflect it's overall need. It's obvious at this point this is not a "requested feature" but a "Flipping Demand!"
It is absolutely pitiful that the developers have ignored this VERY .. VERY simple thing for so long. Completely amazingly inconsiderate of the developers to ignore this.

If you have something more than a $20 walmart special mouse you can install the official drivers for that mouse and set a profile for Eve that inverts the scroll wheel. If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong. |

Still catches me out now and again and if there was an option I'd have it the opposite to how it is now as that is what I'm used to - scrolling towards me which I associate with pulling back resulting in moving in closer makes absolutely no sense to my brain.
Things like this should definitely have an option as everyone's brain and/or what they are used to will be different. |
