The Carebears is an 80's childrens animated television series about a folk of bears with special powers. They hug and cuddle a lot and use their powers to make the lives of other people better.
It isn't so hard to do a google search on the word "Carebear" is it?

Care Bear is some one who is not a pirate and who (if I am not mistaken) complains to the GMs when a pirate uses an exploit or cheat to kill and then comes to the forum to complain about it....I am not 100% sure. But it could also mean anyone that is not a pirate and does NOT have a bad attitude. or simply all of the above (\_/) (O.o) (> <) Teh Uber Asheron's Call Bunny Booty WTFPWNZ you!! |

Careabears organize 30 frigates and smack pirates arses in front of their home bases, and then listen for pirates cry:"Do you know who I am... I'm the greatest, biggest, baddest...No don't please, my precious implants... Noooooooooooooooooooooooo...". And then the carebears go playing into the orange forest until another pirate buys set of 5 implants. ______

That's ofcourse very funny and all but for real: A carebear is usually anyone who doesn't like to engage into PVP in EVE.

Explain carebear pirates then. That's people who smack talk in stations, but still are in a PvP corp?

I guess care bear pirates would be the gatecampers who sit there day after day in BS's podding frigates.
As for carebears in general, they are players who are happy just mining or npc hunting and dont engage in any PvPing. -------- To live your life, only once, and in your own sweet time. What more can you ask?

carebear pirates are people who sit camping drop in points or gates and then whine that they have to pass through a secure area just to get to another gate which they wish to camp, this of course poses slightly more risk than camping a gate waiting for indi's to pass through. Zombies inc and the Navy jobbies are prime candidates for pirate carebears.

a carebear is someone who does not like pvp or engage in pvp.they complain to get things changed in a game to give a disadvantage to players who kill them.carebears dont get that this whole game should be about big battles and excitement regardless of what you lose or what you win.

I consider the whiners in general to be carebears

Bad memory, probably a few mistakes here, but close enough... The origin of the term "carebear":
Elowyn (of Yew, I think) was one of the first guys to run a canteen in UO in the old days. Those canteens really were embrionic player run towns with differentiated rules. Hard to imagine nowadays with advanced chat systems, but some canteens became real institutions on their server, and people actually met in those canteens to hang out.
Elowyn's canteen also got regular visits by PKs, which wasn't a problem until some PKs really wanted to grief the canteen off the server. Elowyn and crew (who were NOT anti-PvP at all, just anti-griefing) decided to have some fun. They all made new characters named Carebear (no unique names exist in UO). And killed the griefer with sheer numbers (hehe, carebear-zerg...aha!).
The incident got Vault-publicity, and the name stuck.
It was anti-griefing originally, not anti-PvP.
