My clone was definitely upto date before I installed the jump clone and still was after I installed the jump clone.
I'm certain of this because 3 hours before I was flying a ferox with tech II heavies. I have NOT been podded since.
Please help me understand what I've done wrong. Thanks.

Let's see: If I understand you right, you jumped to a jump clone, and now Heavy Missiles 5 is due to take 8 days more to train than it was before you used the jump clone.
I suspect the answer to your question is simple: Your original clone had implants that aren't in the clone you jumped to. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the oth |

Nope. He lost 8 days of a finished skill. He flew a Ferox with T2 Heavies. That requires Heavy Missiles 5 first...
Petition it?

Edited by: Scorpyn on 26/05/2006 10:59:47 The total amount of skillpoints doesn't update until you switch skills. This makes it possible to have more skillpoints than you think in some cases, so if the clone was up to date but only marginally so then this might be the problem.
Other than that I don't know... ____________________ 45545555555555555555 |

Edited by: welsh wizard on 26/05/2006 11:08:32 Thanks for the replies people.
I had Heavy Missile V finished. I installed a jump clone with my normal clone fully up to date, then BAM! I'm back to Heavy Missile IV 31% completed and 8 days to train it to level V again.
A couple of people have told me its a bug, one of them has even said its a known bug. I can only hope they're right.

I was speaking to a friend and he was of the opinion that if I didn't recieve an automated response to the petition asking me to reply then it'd never get sorted...
Anyone else had any experience with a 'Lost skill points Reimbursement petition' ?
Thanks.

It's been 2 downtimes now, still at Heavy Missile IV.
It's as though I was podded without a clone... That didn't happen however.

So if I'm reading it right:
1) You were in a station 2) You installed a jumpclone 3) You lost skillpoints without undocking
If that's the case, definately petition it.
Or did you jump to another jumpclone? That still shouldn't make you lose skillpoints, but at least might explain it a bit and it might be a tracable bug.
Or did you try to clonejump the oldfashioned way without an up-to-date clone? (I guess not but you never know..)

Those 3 steps are pretty much what happened...
Someone said it could be a result of installing a jump clone and accidentally jumping straight to it.
As far as I know all I did was enter the station having just trained infomorph psychology to level I.
Open medical install a jump clone.
I then look at my character sheet to check whether the jump clone has appeared and notice that my skill points have reduced.
My clone was fully up to date before and after installing the jump clone and I had been using Tech II heavy launchers about 2 or 3 hours before. I hadn't been podded in between those times.
It's gotta be a bug. :/

Yeh sounds like a bug alright.
What I can make up is this:
Your clone was up-to-date with your displayed skillpoint total, but with the addition of your skill in training (which it doesn't display) it was actually JUST outdated.
You installed a jumpclone and accidentally jumped to it. Let's also assume you stopped training accidentaly (which you need to do for clonejumping) and didn't notice your increased skillpoint amount that made your clone obsolete.
The game automatically makes jumpclones hold the same amount of skillpoints as your regular clone and uses the same rules for that.
You jumped to your jumpclone that had not enough skillpoints saved because the game copies your regular clone's status which caused you to lose skillpoints...
Nah.. that's too far fetched. Petition, petition and more petition until you get a response. You've been a victim of one of the many jumpclone bugs and a pretty nasty one at that too.

Edited by: Zarithas on 28/05/2006 02:00:22 That's odd. Why did my Heavy Missiles magically go up to 5?
(J/K)
Sorry about the bug though. And through the way you describe it, it definitely sounds like a bug. If you have the mail of the skill being completed and petition, you might be able to get it back somehow. Hopefully you'll be compensated somehow. 8 days lost sounds terrible. =/ ----- Want to join a true pirate corp that will accept and train newbs, and also recruit pros?
