I hear that they are supposed to add towing in game some time soon. and it come to my mind that this has got to be a pirates wet dream or you would think any way.
But I wonder how many people would actually surrender and give up their ship?
And how many pirates would let some one go if they did give up cargo and ISK and ship?
any way just a thought (\_/) (O.o) (> <) Teh Uber Asheron's Call Bunny Booty WTFPWNZ you!! |

I can't see how this would help with piracy anymore. Used to be some ppl would eject a bit early to try to avoid being podkilled. Lot has changed since then. Some time after clones got fixed and people started getting battleships, it occurred to some smart fellas that clones are cheap and 100% reliable (ie. the right clone means zero skill loss) so now they either stick it out until the end trying to get their ship away or their opponent dead, or they self-destruct and still try to get away in the pod, so as not to leave a pirate even a loot can.
I would imagine it's a rare thing for someone to be forced out of their ship, since clones cost 1% of what battleships cost :) Maybe if you had me in a shuttle I might think differently, but then would you really bother to tow a shuttle back to your station?
I think towing is likely to be more helpful in moving around multiple ships, and bringing along your indy to a new base while driving your BS/cruiser or whatever.

Good point. Not that my head is, but I'm sure implants will perhaps increase the fear of podding, which at this point is pretty much zero.
Without implants, I think podding a guy you killed deep in 0.0 space is actually a mercy, saving him a loooooong flight at very slow speeds.....

maybe tow a huge scordite rock in front of a station. Watch as everyone gets stuck on it. Pick them off as they try to align their warp.

Better yet Jam a pirate, warp, targeting, web his stinking arse and tow him to a station. Then tell him to either pay up or else LOL Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter,pirate[/i] or mixture of them all.

Why the hell would you give up your ship? I would rather blow it up myself than see my ship beeing used against me next battle. __________________________

No way anyone would give me thir ships, they would rather blow it up as dreamworks say, dosn't make any difference if it gets blown up or they give it away.
If your not a part of the solution, then you'r probably a part of the problem. |

Reckon towing would be good.. towing your indi to another local, or even after buying a ship which is light years away... would make the use of shuttles redundant me thinks... which means you can arm to the teeth to protect the towed ship... yeah always a downside to everything though, just makes for an even more interesting game.. http://www.ukmn.net/verge/verge_banner.gif

We've had a couple of ships. I won't go into details, but whether they give it up or not is largely dependent on what alternatives you offer them... .

Absolutely right. Either way you benefit from your trouble.
