Ive been having the classic and well known CTD when i run two accounts at once on my machine with sound enabled. Even if sound is enabled on only one account it can still glitch and eventually CTD?!?
I'am wondering 'IF' after 2 years this has been resolved.
I' am using a Creative Audigy!!

Its down to EAX thats on your sound cards. I have the same card and run two accounts. If you don't have that turned on, the game runs well. But turn it on, in any form and bam eve dead as a.... dead thing...
If you don't have EAX turned on update to the new drivers that creative have put on their site, that helped me also.
Good luck guys! hope it fixes.

I have the latest driver from Creative for my Audigy card (02.08.0004) released on 24th Jan 2006 I am still recieving sound glitches when running two accounts with the sound turned on, On one of the accounts. The sound starts to glitch the moment the account with no sound starts to interact with the surroundings. i.e. mine/ratting generally the activating of any modules.
From what i understand the glitching noise that ultimately leads to a CTD comes from the account with the sound turned on. As you can imagine this is frustrating me no end. Its been around 2 years now and still no fix.
I have turned down the acceleration within the Audigy options and it does not make any difference.
'Bradstone' states that turning off EAX solved his problems however i find no option to do so anywhere and as EVE doesnt use EAX i do not believe this is the cause of this problem.
Can anyone help us with this because it is obviously not just me who suffers from this.
I find it a little frustrating that i have to ask the community for advice on this as it should have either been addressed by the developers or general tech support by now. Or at least an explanation as to why it cant be fixed.

Same problem here: 2 accounts, Audigy 2 with sound enabled -> blue screen of death and computer reboots
