I just have to get me one of these, regardless of the actual stats. And fit it with lots of lasers. And go shoot some helpless 0.9 belt rats, while playing the Babylon 5 soundtrack really, really loud.

I am personally worried about the tier 2 BC. If they follow the place holder stats they are going to make the tier 1 BCs almost completely obsolete.
If it is a drone ship I think it should get a base drone bay of 50m3 and get 25m3 drone space per level. 2nd bonuss could be either a medium hybrid bonuss or rep bonuss, hopefully not a drone damage bonuss.
I'm really hoping that this BC will be a dampening ship but I'm almost certain that it will not be and I think most of the comunity will be happy with a drone ship anyway.

It shouldn't have armour rep bonus, give it drone and dmg bonus, like vexor and domi and leave it as such.
Ships looks funky, I like it alot. Guess I need to train interfacing V some time.

Actually, I agree. A bc-sized sensor damp + drones platform would be cool, and something a bit different. Or an EW-drone platform, at the moment no ship gives bonuses to the non-damage drones.

Do the placeholder stats take into account the drone bay size changes a few patches back?
If not then will this drone bay be 125m^3?
regardless i think this ship looks awesome and will be getting one as soon as possible. I can't wait to fly them, is there any way to induce a coma so i don't have to waste months in real life waiting for this ace looking BC?

250m3 sounds great to me. I personally wouldn't just put 5 ogre's in there, but I can finnaly start using diffrent type of medium drones, so you can mix it up nicely. Jam, damp, neut, dmg, it's all there.

Well, the Vexor gives a mining bonus, but that's it. I really would like to see a ship that gives a bonus to the new drone types, and either the new BS or this new BC seems the perfect platform for such a thing. And of course, I also really think the other three races need a BC or BS sized EW boat to finally achieve some parity with the Scorp. Arbies and Celestises are of rather limited use in fleets.

Oh yes. The preliminary stats for these ships appeared long after the drone revision.

Part of my grand quest in EVE, is to get a BPO of all T1 ships (bar the capitols). If I hadn't already made that my quest, I would buy the BPO for this ship and build ONE for myself, just because IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!

Ugh I was realy hoping I'd like the gallente one, Its too similar to the catalyst and not linear enough for galente.
I love Aseir's designs but I just dont thinks hes suited to draw gallente ones, he hasnt got their design style worked out.

We have several drone boats already which are identical to each other, bonus-wise. The "blaster boats" all have some different flavoring to them.
And Good Almighty, do you have any idea what you're talking about? Do you understand what a 10%-per-level T2 Damp could do? Now that Boosters and Damps don't share a stacking penalty, Damps can be quite useful.

Ahh....recons are t2 ;)
Besides I'm thinking more along the lines of fire power and the drone's do the logisic part . But they could get over power I supose if everyone just uses the drone bay to fit t2 heavies.

If it goes live with 250m3 drone bay you can have 5 heavy + 5 mediums and still have 75m3 left over for replacements/utility.

an idea that comes to mind for me....
would be a role-bonus that reduces the size of medium and/or light drones.
thus you could have a bay that'd be sufficient to hold plenty of medium and light drones, spares and such... without having so much space that it'd be able to have a full setup of heavies and such.
I still am of the opinion it should get a drone count bonus as well, rather than a damage bonus.

Bleh. Looks like a rougher variation of a Sansha ship. Some similarities to a Catalyst, but at least the Catalyst looked nice. I have to say, just like with the tier 3 Gallente BS, I'm disappointed Every other race is getting nicer-looking ships than Gallente this time around. Oh well, can't have it all

You guys are crazy if you think this looks worse than the tier 2 Amarr BC. I'm sick of alien-heads on my ships =P
I'm waiting till the ships are in-game to decide if I'm switching from Amarr to Gallente for sure. I am tired of the simple Amarr setups and would like something interesting (still hoping Amarr t3 isn't an arma+apoc combined).
The new Gallente ships are looking good in concept art. Really hoping they look good in-game too if I do switch =P

It wont get 5 heavys with a 50% damage bonus, cuss it would do the same damage as a domi, i think itll get 5 heavys without a damage bonus.

In that case, the bets are open on the other bonus - 1 being a tank bonus. Lads (and lasses) if you think any BC is going to be put in game without a tank bonus, youre delusional. :)

Every single Gallente ship in game has a hybrid damage mod bonus, even the Ishtar and Vexor. I'm betting on reversed tanking bonuses - Gallente/Minmatar - resistance bonuses, Amarr/CAldari - repairer bonuses.

Well, that would render the brutix obselete. Its got 1100MW, which is only 50 less than the brutix. And its got as many lows and 1 more mid.

We have several drone boats already which are identical to each other, bonus-wise. The "blaster boats" all have some different flavoring to them.
And Good Almighty, do you have any idea what you're talking about? Do you understand what a 10%-per-level T2 Damp could do? Now that Boosters and Damps don't share a stacking penalty, Damps can be quite useful.
yes it could diable a ship with 2 dampeners aka slots, now where have i seen that trick before /emote stares @ jammers.

personally speaking i think the thing is damn ugly.
That aside /me joins wild speculation.
I hope that the new BC will be the vexxor to the brutixes thorax. By that i mean it gets its high slots chopped down brutally. The last thing we need is yet another nos/drones/ubertank or blasters/drones/ubergank ship. Drones are meant to be the gallente thing for sure, but if this thing gets 250m3 drone bay AND 10% per level it'll be beyond overpowered. Assuming it HAS to be a droneboat, which im hoping against, i would rather see it get the ishkur style of bonus.
A sensor damp BC would be pretty funkeh.
And on the subject of BC's .. is the cyclone currently meant to be in the 'stabber' line of minnie ships , with the new one being the rupture or the other way round ? Either way the cyclone is not that nippey.

I think the idea is more that the cyclone shield-tanks and the new one armor-tanks.
In the prelim data, the new one has a little more grid but 2 more guns AND armor-tanks (4 mid and 6 lows at any rate, shield bonus on that will truly extracting the urine) - i think the idea is that itll be autocannon, short-range oriented while the cyclone is howies + heavyes, long-range. That goes in line with the AC + Armor, Howies + Shield (if any) tank "thing" theme that cccp seems to wanna imprint on minnie recently.
Ofc, the prelim data is incomplete, so until someone pulls the stats out of the 3910 client we wont really have a good idea of exactly what CCPs plan is... jide seems to have fallen off the face of the game =/
