Alright, heres the deal, I already have Minmatar Lvl 4 agents, and I'm not overly keen on having to grind through Lvl 1's and 2's of another faction just to get Lvl3's and 4's elsewhere. I currently have Amarr BS Lvl 4. Large Energy Turret skill is in training at present, as just finished Gunnery V.
However, given that its in Minni space How well withh the Apoc preform? Isnt there a bit of a problem with its Em/Therm damage output failing to break the tank of certain Minni besed enemies?
Therefore, I was thinking that maybe a Dominix would make for a better mission running boat for me to use? I like Gallante ships in equal ammounts to Amarr ones, and would intend to train both races up eventually. Therefore, should I instead take a week to get my skills up to scratch for a Dominix instead of the Apoc (Should only take a week, Gal Cruiser 4 is about 1/2 finished already from some time previously). My drone skills are already quite decent, and I love using them (even with their buggyness).
I'm a bit torn to be honest. I dont have quite enough ISK for the Apoc (+ insurance) yet anyway (waiting on sell orders going through), so now would really be the best time for me to make the decision before I plunge a large whack of ISK on either ship.
I guess that the other bonus of the Domi is that its cheaper to replace to the tune of 40 Million ISK.

I'm having the same problem, really. I like the Domi more, but I think I'm going to end up using the Apoc because I can't get a feel for how often the drone agro bug is going to kill me.

Can't comment on the Amarr ships but I do fly a Dominix for Minamtar lvl 4's.
It does very well with moderate drone skills providing most of the damage (t1 heavies, most skills to 4, a few to 5 - total about a million sp's), and it tanks like a beast.
For NPC's I use the following setup, but note that nothing was tech II when I started, it justs makes life easier.
High: 4 250 compressed rails, 1 large named Nosferatu, 1 tractor beam
Med: Afterburner II (or named), 4 Cap charger II's (fixed-parallels before that)
Low: Lar II, Mar II, named Damage control, 4 rat specific hardeners.
Rat specific drones
Angels: use 2 active explosive, 1 thermal, 1 kinetic, and Berserker Drones, for example.

How will it kill you?
The only time I've had it kill me is when I got concordokened because my drones went ape**** on a gangmate during a mining session, presumably because I'd be having a few friendly fights with the same person earlier in the day.
They don't go mental on other tthings that can get you killed do they? (I intend to solo these missions).

For whatever reason, sometimes launching drones will make the WHOLE AREA agro on the drones - not just the nearby NPCs. I mean EVERYONE YOU CAN SEE! When you haul your drones in, then they all agro on you.

So, warp in, align for warp out, laungh drones, and if the area goes OMGWTFBBQ insane, dock the drones and hit warp?
Then try again?

I have been asking this same question - but nobody answers me. I'm not sure if it goes this way or not, honestly. I'm still doing level 3s, and I've never seen this bug. I wish someone who has experience with level 4s would describe how to deal with this problem (aside from just flying some other BS hehe).

I haven't had problems with it in level 4's. I think it happens in 1st room of Angel extravaganza, worlds collide and Right hand of Zazzmataz.
Meaning it is a problem for those, but if you are preared you can survive anyways with good tank and strategy. Basically kill the scramblers first and align.
I usually agro with a railgun, then wait until most are flashing red (targetting me) before launching drones if in doubt.

Hmm, OK.
So you end up flying level 4s with 6 railguns, and fighting with the railguns? I guess that sort of nerfs your tank, and takes forever... those railguns aren't great hitters.

The answer is simple...
Do you want a giant liver (yeah, looking at the Domi from the side, it looks like a liver lol) throwing mosquitos with malaria* to kill your enemy?
Or do you want a sexy golden machine of destruction serving His will?
NO! I'm not biased :p
Although you have to remember the dominix is considered the solo pwnmobile by some, so PvP wise it may yet be better than an Apoc.
*It's just an image, I don't find that disease funny in any way.

My friend's domi was faster than my apoc in some missions, I held a better tank, but that was about it :(
(Note: My gunnery skills were about as bad as his drone skills)
