One thing I would really like to see is a way to set up a training queue, so that when the current skill that is being trained is completed, another that you specify will automatically start. You should be able to queue up to 5 skills. It would be particularily useful in making use of wasted training time that occurs when you can't log in to start another training, like while people are at work or sleeping.
Since the removal of the evemail skill training notification messages, I almost always miss the "skill training completed" message that pops up on the screen for a split second. When a skill is done training the charater sheet button should flash blue like your wallet does when you make a sale. --------------------------------------- To Arr!!!!!! is pirate. Couldn't eve just continue to train up to level 5 on a skill, atleast wasted time is used on a skill. Less complicated solution.

Looks @ thread #1000 of this same idea being pushed by really lazy people.
Skills are done in real time to give people not able to log on 24/7 a chance. Don't push it be asking not to ever have to log in to train up new skills.

Edited by: Arr MiHardies on 23/09/2003 16:51:15 Im not lazy. I play for over 8 hours a day nearly every day. But when a skill ends in the middle of the night that could be as much as 9 hours lost before I'm able to get on and start a new one. This happens quite often.
And people have to purchase those new skills in the first place. How the hell can they train new skills if they dont go out to earn the money to purchase them?
Im not asking to never have to log in. Im asking that I not have to wake up in the middle of the night just to log in so I'm not wasting valuable training time.
BTW, name calling is the last resort of the unintelligent mind. If you dont have anything constructive to say, then shut your trap. --------------------------------------- To ARR!!!!!!! is pirate, to swashbuckle even more so. |

Ahh, but it is constructive, it turns people away from these types of ideas. Simply use your head.
1)Know when your skill will be done.
2)Train a different skill overnight and finish the first the next day when you know you can be on to start another.
You say this is not laziness, but it seems so to me. You should have plenty of level 4 and level 5 skills you can train which has more than 9 hours on it. ------------------- Basic truths? Idiots make us rich. - Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. |

I think a 5 skill queue is a bit excessive.
However, I do agree that there should be a "Next Skill" option which would allow you to pick the skill that you want trained after the current skill training is finished. --- ...I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. What is EVE? Control. EVE is a computer generated dream world built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into a beta tester. |

This is a game, don't go stressing out over missing some time training, worry about not getting fired from work from stayin up all night playing a game and being dead tired that day.

I think because it is a game you should be able to queue your time.
I see no reason why this perfectly feasible idea should not be implemented. What with extended downtimes, and getting stuck in space I can see why a training queue is worthwhile.
Finally what is the point of logging on for just 2 minutes to change a skill?? You might as well lower the server load by enabling an option like this. As long as you are getting your monthly subscription fees I really do not see why there should be any objections.
Why not make everyones life easier. Who wants to stress over making sure they log in at the right time to train skills at the exact time. I want to have fun, and it is far more important to me and a lot of other players to play the game to relax. It is a game after all.
Those players who want to set their alarm clock and wake up 2 hours into their sleep pattern to change their skills I salute you. Others of us would like it to be more user friendly. Nothing to see here .... move along. |

Did you not read what I said?
It is a very simple thing to see, A, i'm logging off to sleep in 3 hours. B, my skill is done in 4 hours. C, This other skill takes 2 days and 13 hours to train, and i will need to train it soon. D, you turn that skill on to train until you have a chance to log in and finish the first skill you were training.
You would have to be a very dedicated player to get up a couple hours just to log in and train a skill. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how best to use your time.
If people aren't smart enough to figure something this simple out, they deserve to lose time training. ------------------- Basic truths? Idiots make us rich. - Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. |

Lol you obviously did not read what I said.
What about if you are stuck in blackhole system? Going to try and log in and switch your skill training around for that?
If you do not like the idea no one is stopping you from doing exactly what you are doing. Which in actually fact is what I currently do. However I would prefer having a queue.
