This morning when I logged in to adjust skills I took at peak at what my agent could offer by opening his "Greetings" screen then having a peak in the journal under "Offered"(hoiping for a instacomplete)
It was a livestock run I could not make before I had to catch a bus so I closed all windows, by clicking the "X" as I always do.
I come home from work to find that I have failed the mission, wtf! á

No, I looked under "Active" before logging out, since I know the agents sometimes act wierd. There where no "Active" mission so I assumed all was good. Too bad it was not. á

Edited by: Hummus on 23/09/2003 19:15:56 I find that if I so much as get to the "Do you have work for me" screen, I'm pretty much commited to accepting that agent mission even before I click the Respons button.
If you get to that "Do you have work for me" screen and See info on that agent before clicking the reply, you'll see the upcoming mission as Active on the bottom.
The Acceptance flag is apparently activating when you initially approach him about giving you a new mission, even before you know what it is.
Looks to me like the only way to get out of it is to either complete one of those delivery missions at another station / click the X right after completing a mission at that station (before the asking for work dialogue) / or just not talking to him at all while in his station unless you intend on doing a mission.
You can always just abort the mission I guess, but it will take 2.5 successes to offset the standing loss with the agent. But in my eyes, that's 1 step forward, 2.5 steps back. ========================================== Hobbies: Seeking out the Village idiot and making sure I'm smarter. So far, so good!! |

The problem is the "failure" timer for a mission begins to count down once it is in your "Offered" list.
This is a known bug, and will most likely be addressed in the next major patch.
