Hi guys. My nephew is desperate to get into Eve. But his computer is a 5yo 1gig celeron based machine. We just want to know, if we fit a decent upto date graphics card will that be good enough to run the Eve client?
THanks in advance.

HI Hoshi Khanid This is what ccp say you need!! but aye say you need lots of ram 1gb min and a 128mb AGP Video card min (ATI 9600 pro) is cheep and good for about ú30-45 eve on a 1gig celeron you may only get 20-30 fps but it will work.
Basic system requirements Minimal hardware:
ò CPU: PIII - 450 MHZ or higher.
ò RAM Memory: 128MB (256MB for 2000/XP).
ò Hard Drive Capacity: 1 GB.
ò Connection: 56k modem or faster. Operating System:
ò Win98 SE.
ò Windows 2000.
ò Millennium, WinXP.
ò Please note that Windows 95 and NT are not supported.
ò DirectX 9.0 or later. Video cards:
ò GeForce 2 or better.
ò ATI Radeon 7200 or better.
ò Matrox Parhelia.
To check whether your card meets these requirements check with your card manufacturer: Minimum screen resolution
ò Minimum screen resolution for EVE is 1024x768. Sound
ò Audio hardware must be Direct Sound compatible. For optimum performance, use latest drivers available. Recommended system for optimal performance:
ò Processor: P4 1GHz+.
ò RAM Memory: 256MB or higher.
ò 3D Accelerator: 64MB or higher video card. Required Internet connection
EVE is can run on a 33.6KBPS modem, and has been tested to be the fastest MMOG running on a 56K modem. Naturally, better connections will enhance game performance, but dial-up users can and are playing on such connections. Internet latency Anitta "The Kamikaze" Blake crow pilot |

I doubt you'd get anywhere near 20-30fps on a 1GHz celeron, even with a half decent graphics card. It'll work but I don't think it'll be particularly playable. --------------

actualy a friend of mine is building a new PC and has scavenged parts off his current unit. so in the mean time he is playing eve on his very old pentium 3, and it runs eve fine, no problems at all. i even instaled eve on my dads computer, granted it has a 1.7mhz processor in it but its only got a 64meg grafix card and 500meg of ram an that works ok too. i think as long as u dont try to max out the grafix settings it should work great as long as u put in a bunch of ram an get a good GPU. just cuz u cant get a game in UBER OMG SUPER HIGH RES mode does not make in unplayable by anymeans. |
