Ive been in two fights today in a 0.0 sys. one was a n00b who i jammed and then let go. the other was a pirate in a moa who lost his ship but wasnt podded.
for both these actions i took sec. hits, 0.6 in total.
any idea why? is this something new or just bugged?

If you were in empire space, than nothing new there. Only outside empire space can you do that and get away with it.

JX-30213 such and such systems are non-empire
0.0 systems with an actual name (example Balas)
are empire and you will take sec hits ================================== Milk, milk, lemonade! Round the corner, chocolate's made! |

Not completely true, i've taken sechits in non-empire 0.0 systems before. The only response i got from support was that is was empire space anyway ./ Kinda strange since it was only 1 single system in the whole region

surely the sec. hit should depend on the sec. status of the sector; a 0.0 should not give a sec. hit. fair enough if the 0.0 is in amarr space for example, you may take a hit to your faction status, but not your over all sec. rating

I thought it was the case that you only lost sec rating in 0.0 space if you podded someone?
Why is it that when someone tells you that there are over a billion stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint somewhere, you have to touch it to make sure? |

What about all the controversy and the bru-ha-ha about them changing it to where pod killing in 0.0 caused sec hits? I thought that change was made this patch? -Othnark

Hi.
There are some systems that are bugged. they do not display the right sovereignity. Sometimes it looks like there is no sovereignity, but in reality there is one. And viceversa.
Usually in 0.0 NON empire, you shouldn't take a hit. In 0.0 empire you take a hit (and not only with that faction mind you). Dunno if this is working as intended, but this is what i noticed.

Lots of confusion here. Let me clear it up to the best of my ability and knowledge:
- The rumoured sec hit outside empire space that was supposed to be in the patch was scrapped and was not in the patch. - A few 0.0 systems outside empire space had a rounding error in their securiy rating, causing them to give a hit. This was fixed in the patch.
If you got a hit outside empire space, please state what system this was in.

Great so players are suffering from CCP's lack of attention to detail and/or slipshod coding AGAIN.
IMHO there should be no sec hit in 0.0 regardless of one's actions. There is NO LAW in 0.0. You can't sit back, run your shield booster and wait for Concord to show up and blow the attacker away.
Similarly, if you're pirating, you should be able to in 0.0. Isn't that the point?
By doing this, CCP is creating interstellar gentrification. Where anyone who Pvp's(whether pirate or not) will end up out in 0.0 and all the carebears will be in high sec space with no crossing of the line.
Who knows, maybe that's what they want. --------------

Jimbot, that "Pirate" you killed wasnt actually a pirate hes one of our corp members, he has a low sec status for defending a mining op against Merc frigs.
The sector was in empire space and it clearly states that in the top left hand corner, and if you'd like to pass through that sector again, so I can, as you put it "kill you outa sheer boredom." Then Id be grateful.
Hope to pod you very soon
