I logged off last night thinking that all was well with the world. I had just completed 35 missions straight, NO failures. I was a happy HAPPY person. I only had a few missinos left till I am eligable for the level 3 agents.
** *Ah then Eve entered the twilight zone.***
I logged in today to start yet another round of missions to find a wonderful email in my eve-mail box.... what was the message says you?
"2003.09.23 06:05:00
You have failed the mission I gave you. I am disappointed in you. I was hoping for a little more competence."
Really I failed a mission huh This is news to me as I logged off feeling successful and completing all the missions. So what may you ask happened? The short? My agent likes to harrass players when given money.
That seems weird right? Well, not so weird because the agent's like to take your money, they like to give you a nice anal probe gift if you do, because they give you secret missions you never asked for. If you don't complete the secret missions then you fail them. You must be psychic to know that you have these missions. You must be "in-tune" to the fact that helping your agent out with money will give you the ****-shoot salute.
Anyways... I would like to say this REALLY REALLY ****es me off, and is a bug that perfectionists like myself start to worry about. I want my 60-0 record back. I didn't ask for the ole bend-over 1-2.
I have filed a petition so flamerz back the hell off... and the purpose of the post is to let the people be warned that unless you want the same fate as me, never talk to your agent... never EVER give him money... and never ever turn your back on him or bend over!

It's not the end-of-the-world to have a "failed mission." Don't worry about it... you'll still level up and get better agents...

you see what happens when people do 35 agent missions in a row? dont let this happen to you... just buy the godamn implant, the people closest to you will thank you for it.

Your right. In RL, it isn't. If you think Eve is RL, stop playing now. Take a long break. Sexual assault on a 2 dimensional headshot (no, please don't..) is funny. Or, at least, mildly amusing.

yes, sexual assault is one of teh least funny things in the world... but if you read this post with the narration voice in your head being in this high squeaking and quavering pitch, barely able to contain its indignant disgust and rage in a failed mission after 59 succesful ones - ôa bug that perfectionists like myself start to worry about! i want my 60-0 record back!ö. well, no offense meant to the author, but this post is mos funny.
itÆs a testament to the sheer surreal quality of human behavior. that we have evolved to this point so that days and hours of our repetitive actions in a completely artificial world can send us to bed ôa happy happy person!ö and then be horrified when a little glitch screws up this bizarre practice of virtual perfectionismà well, not only is it funny and horrible to me at the same time.. but it should be a wake up call to all of usà
go outside. smell the pine and summer blackberries. play freebee with some children and lay in the sun next to a creek listening to the water. invite your friends over for dinner and get some good wine in all your bodiesà if you reach this state with the game you arenÆt having fun anymoreà yor trying to work out something from your real life in a virtual world. which is an utter waste. in my opinion.

I have just recently had a similar experience, however there was not any sexual assault associated with the issue.
I received notification from my agent I had not completed a mission I never accepted. This bothers me as well, because I too would prefer not to have a tainted record.
On a good note, I think I figured out how it was caused. Given you are not presently working on a mission for your agent and you speak to them, it places an unaccepted mission in your journal. This mission, if you read the details, will be the next mission offered if you ask for work. I believe the act of reading the journal and inquiring in the journal section of unaccepted missions somehow switches the flag of acceptance and turns on the timer. For example, once you read the details of the unaccepted mission and then perform an information lookup on your agent, you will see you have one mission in progress, though the journal says the mission has not been accepted.
While it might seem trivial, I dislike the notion of having a flawed record due to slight glitch in the system. So, if it is of any consolation Nelso, I too will be filing a petition regarding the issue.

nesio, this happened to me yesterday too, i too filed a petition, i also took a rating hit due to this phantom failure
