Currin Trading	Posted - 2006.05.30 20:09:00 - [1] One of the Currin Trading traders is retiring from EVE and has willed away his assets. We are holding a lottery with a prize of 1 billion ISK for the winner. Entry into the lottery is free for all Currin Trading investors whose first investment was prior to this post. Non-investors may also participate in the lottery. To avoid diluting the free entries, the tickets cost 10 million ISK and are limited one per person. (Include "lotto ticket" in the reasons slot for purchase.) Sign-ups will be taking place in this thread and will be closed in 48 hours, after which the drawing will take place and the winner announced. The winner will then choose either to take 500 million ISK instantly or be paid 200 million ISK weekly for five weeks. If you are a Currin Trading investor and signing up for free, please post here and include that you are "Already an investor". (This will be verified prior to the drawing, naturally.) Have fun and good luck to all participants!

For summary, in such schemes the general schedule is: 1) Get initial investors, pay them generously 2) Attract crowd of investors, paying part of the obtained ISK back to investors 3) Profit: With enough ISK in pocket and pyramid on verge of collapse, run and hide Winners: mostly the author of scheme, somewhat the initial investors. Losers: vast majority of 'investors' getting in at the peak of popularity Extra benefits of such scheme: you won't need any initial investment capital, and your investors have heavily vested interest to market your scheme. If there aren't constant flow of new investors, they'll lose their ISKs. As extra benefit for such scheme, the early investors have quite interest in casting the scheme in favourable light, or they'll lose their investment. Hints why this could be such scheme: - Their website mostly focus on 'get rich', with shady details how they actually make the profit - They promise annual 3785.68% profit (1.15^26) If so, it is too late invest in hopes of being one of the 'early ins'. The major marketting campaign has already begun. -Lasse P.S. Unlike in RL, in Eve economy it might just be possible to make 40B out of 1B in a year. But if the fellows here are such geniuses, why the heck they are willing to give the profits to short therm investors? P.P.S. On plus side, I think Eve is very cheap way of getting first hand experiment of such schemes. One learns to be more careful in RL.

You owe to yourself to watch this movie to protect your RL investment too so why don't you go renting it right now?

I am a sceptic and NEVER trust ppl that is why I started small and am making the investment "grow" on it¦s own, only dumping back what I¦ve earned. all you non investor sceptics, plz do not join in the lotto because it makes my odds worse and if many join I am afraid I might not win this. but as allways, don¦t trust anyone in EVE or RL and NEVER give money before you receive the goods, that is how most scams work but ofcourse there are millions of ways to scam you out of your isks.

Posting transaction information--or giving any information about your recent trades--in public is unwise, unless you have left the game. Nor does it serve any purpose: in our experience, skeptics never change their minds. Three years later, some people still think the BIG Lottery is a scam. In any case, we would only release information if it somehow furthered the interests of our investors. The interests of investors come first, the interests of non-investors second. That is the way it has always been, and I can't imagine that ever changing.
