A now infomous bug, I have suffered it since the patch. Several reinstalls, assorted file swaping with older versions, and numberous curse words have led to me surrendering to hope of an update to fix this. Thoughts? Idea's of what they changed to trigger this? Where should I be looking?

Secondary info, This is XP Pro SP2 Twin Athlon 2400 CPU's 768 RAM on a Tyran S2466 GeForce 6600GT using the 7.1.8.9 driver as the 8x series does nothing but screw up all output on it with this Tyran board. This has all worked perfectly until last update. Directx 9.0c is in use.

Edited by: Sarrena on 02/06/2006 01:49:18 When I start eve, the blue splash comes up, then rather then the login screen I get a black box.
So far responses form eve tech are so blantently foolish I can tell they didn't bother reading it.
If its not fixed with the June 6th patch I'll have to cut my losses and shut down. Try again in a few months.

Solved it myself by searching the log I sent to CCP. My increadible reading skills led me to a blatent error showing a reg key had windows mispelled when searching for the fonts section. The correct spelling, thought some miricle, solved it.
The leason I learned, if something messed up oddly after a patch, use the log server, submit to myself.

Just goes to show that you should try everything possible before contacting tech support. They've got a twisted sense of humor, and were probably laughing at you. ;)

What are you...pull your head out. If you seen what they replied with, and if you had actually READ the logs. You might understand the frustration. It was bullsh*t, there is no reason why they didn't read the logs. In tech suport the logs are the first thing you bloody well read. If this had happend where I work, man I wouldn't want to be the guy who took the call. Walking in the dark is easier then walking in the light just...Just close your eyes. |

Heh, we might as well put this dead horse to rest. Would a mod kindly do the honours whenever.
