Before you all jump up and scream "Iteron V", I want to point out the following. Iteron V: 6k cargohold, 5 lowslots. Badger II: 5.5k cargohold. 6 lowslots.
Has anyone done the math on this? what kind of expanders would i need to make a badger better than an iteron? assume 5 levels of industrial skill; i've decided my second account will be becoming a hauler for the time being, so i can easily sink the 20 days into learning the skill. but i'd rather not spend an extra month just to compare the two!

With all lows filled with best named expanders:
1st Prorator (T2) 2nd Occator (T2) 3rd Iteron mkV 4th Bustard (T2) 5th Mastadon (T2) 6th Mammoth 7th ... New sig coming soonÖ In the next (content) patch Information Warfare will be nerfed. How sad, it wasn't even useful to begin with. |

My alt is a Caldari, but I'll admit I trained him up to fly Iteron V's, they are surprisingly versatile.
Got 3 setups: - User-hauler with expanders and GSCs - Nippy hauler with nanos - Mid-sec miner with armour tank.

hmm, versatility is a good point. i might be happier with the iteron5. my main (me) can already use an iteron 4, but i've been focusing on BS and HAC skills. the 2nd is almost done all the learning skills...

And if you train the indy skill to 5, you're not far from being able to fly transport ships (the T2 indies) -- those are very cool, too. --- High quality pics of ALL EVE ships!

Yep, Impel is the best. But with 7 expanders mine goes a whopping 15 m/s.
I love it, but turtles speed by and leave me in the dust.

I do not know about the Transports but the Mk-V is the only T1 hauler that can fit a 10mn MWD (been told a Mammoth can but I have never seen it). With good skills 4xMAPC low and a 10mn MWD pops in just fine. Generally with this setup I just fill everything else with cap rechargers/relays as I rarely haul loot like this and just want to get it from A -> B fast. It hits the gate at over 1000m/s and there is something fun about a Mk-V tearing by a shuttle on the way to the gate.

29.5% expanders are not in game yet. People have been waiting for them forever. Considering Local Hull Expanders sell for around 25 mil each the person who gets a T2 Expander BPO will be an instant billionaire (I can think of few BPOs I'd rather have if just thinking about earning potential).
Unless you are a serious hauler and have a very good hauler (Mammoth or Mk-V at least) I would not waste my money on expanders that good. Beta expanders are half the price of Locals and I'd say they are too much as well for a L3 hauler.
Of course do whatever you want but a 75+ mil Badger-II seems silly somehow and it still wouldn't have all that great of a cargo (13k).

Try a viator = 2000+ m/s

A mammoth can do it too. 3x RCU II and you got 152 grid. enough to fit a 10mn mwd ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

But can you use a Carrier to scoop up ore after mining op and use up all of that cargo room ?

Impel is the king, but it means little since it is basically immobile. However, you can do 6 cargo expanders, 1 local nanofiber, and a MWD and get decent speed out of it. Just remember that this will take very high skills, both as to speed, and as to cap and warp drive operation as it chews cap fast. Without these, the Impel is a piece of crap.
The blockade runners are much better ships for non-mass haulage. The Impel class of ships is total crap because you would use a freighter if you needed that much space, and you would use the blockade runner if you actually needed to get anywhere dangerous (my Prorator does 3100M/s+).
