Hi All Capsuleers!
I have created this new alt to start a project called FEDERAL POLICE.
My vision is that someday there would be a police force (or several of them) run by players .
Players that would co-operate together under the laws set by this police force.
No game system is perfect and there could be ways to exploit this some twisted way, but...
Key issue would be the ethics of this police force and if player is found violating the ethics, will be kicked out from the corporation.
We would seek no fortune, but would make some money to cover our costs (maybe with relevantly high tax).
So really, I only have my vision, my ethics and that's all.
I want to open discussion on what those ethics should cover and I ask you to think also how we could build a trustworthy police that can be seen in high, low and in null sec.
Some ethics that comes to my mind and I hope you ppl can come up with much more:
1. Sovereignty owners can do what ever they want on their territory. - if police is attacked we respond with fire.
2. Wars between corps/alliances we stay out of them.
3. Gate-camps (no sov owner) are our targets.
4. Criminals are our targets.
There are plenty of more ethics to follow and with these 4 there might also be problems from game mechanics. But still I believe this would be nice journey for such a police force...

Do you also want discussion on what your vision should be? It seems a little unclear at the moment. Hunt gate camps and criminals. Might need some more depth.

Its not about following one mans vision, but bringing ppl together with similar vision and honing what would be the ethics of such a police force.

first, this probley is the wrong forum section for this
second, while there needs to be a way to be Concord sanctioned law in this game, currently there isn't
so what you want to do is barely workable |

I hope you manage this, while I doubt it will succeed. We can always use more targets in low sec to fight. Just remember not only to go for gatecamps. Some of the low sec corps are not really into that much. |

What would it take to make this a workable project?
Do you think the main reason that it would not work, is the game mechanics?
Personally I think that, with a good set of 'internal rules of engagement' call them ethics or something. This could be a nice addition to EVE universe.
If the ethics of police force is well set and Police don't tolerate violation of these rules in their ranks, the Police force could survive and expand.

And this is why bounties need to be framed in a contract system so that corporations like this can focus on targets and not blindly flail about trying to create flavour where no substance to hold such exists.

I don't even know what would be a proper salary in a game, where ppl make so much money.
Vision is that this would be something ppl would like to be part of, because of the ethics (which are still not discussed here).

Listen sport, I like your moxy, I really do.
But Ill tell you this, you need deep pockets, a solid whack of experience and skin thicker than a rhino to pull off what you are trying to do.
I respectfully suggest you stop now and join a larger group to get these things in the meantime.
Also, the Police dont discuss ethics. They enact the rule of and letter of the law. If the law operates unethically, then the police do so too.

While I like to see player driven content as much as the next, this thread is going nowhere fast. I am locking the thread because it will get trolled from here to eternity, however to the OP. I offer you an alternative.
The concept has merit. Get yourself an action plan and head over to the recruiting forums and start building your police force.
