Ever used the famous ctrl+left-click to lock a hostile, only to have it switch place with something else on the overview, causing you to lock the wrong target?
Well, even if you haven't, then I have, and I can tell you that it's quite annoying (and dangerous in high sec space).
A fairly simple way of fixing this problem would be to stop the overview from updating when the CTRL button is pressed (and have it resume updating when it's released). ____________________ 45545555555555555555 |

I've targetted a can or a friendly several times while someone happily shot my ship away without being locked. It would be great if holding down the CTRL key froze the overview while you left clicked on the right target instead of it moving just as you click.

Agreed. This needs to be done. Arranging the overview by distance is the most obvious choice, and having them bounce around like that probably causes more aggravating misclicks than anything else.

even better, make an option in states in overview settings to only show the selected groups. therefore all the nubs in ibis and caracals in jita dont get targetted from overview, because you only have war targets showing. --------------

Overview settings, you can select whatever ships you want to remain off the overview and then save it as a setup to load up when you need it. Remove noob frigates on the tickbox iirc. Caracals are a different problem cos it will remove all cruisers, even war targets

no, what im proposing is, you can set it to only show whats checked.
in empire wars, even if i only show warp targets, it still shows neutrals without any other way of filtering them (bounty, etc). im saying we could filter everything out besides what we want. so that way only war targets show up. --------------

Great idea. I just wasted a can in a mission without realizing it, cause I ctrl-clicked and queued up my weapon systems... and before I could turn them off the missiles were already in the air.
And I just know that can had the 100mil implant in it.
