I have just trained Covops lvl1 and cloaking lvl5 to use a Covops cloak on an Anathema. It';s telling me it requires 400 CPU to bring it online but the Anathema only has 281 to begin with. Covops lvl 1 should give me 96% reduction in CPU requirement rising to 100% at lvl 5 but it seems this is not the case.
Now I'm really getting ragged at this game, it has taken days of skills training and millions of isk to find that I can't even use the damned ship and I have completely wasted my time.
Even if I report it as a bug which it obviously is, it won't get sorted for weeks or more so I still can't use the ship I have spent weeks training for until then.

Guess what 10,000 minus 96% is?
400.
Level up covops skill to make the ship easier to fit.

It's still crap. They ought to change the minimum requirement for an Anathema to Covops lvl3 and cloaking lvl 4 because a Covops ship without a Covops cloak is a bit stupid, it's just a paper thin frigate and a welcome target for any ganker who happens along.
As for no speed penalty while cloaked, it doesn't happen with a standard cloak so it's no better than using a Crucifier with a standard cloaking device and you can't warp while cloaked either way.
Either they should change the requirement as above or change the CPU bonus from 96-100 in increments of 1 up to 97.5-100 in increments of 0.5. 250tf will allow you to fit a Covops cloak at least, even if you can't fit anything else as well. It still leaves 31tf available for small mid and low slot stuff. Adding levels to the Covops skill is not a requirement to fly it then, just a requirement to fit other mods.

And this is related to this forum how?
Go post your whines in the ships and modules forum, where you'll get properly flamed for them.

I don't think any of the cov ops can use a cloak until they've trained to III, not even the Buzzard.

Level 4 cloaking and level 4 covert ops piloting skills
are a must...and needed to properly fit the correct cloaking mods..
and no they are not so SMALL and useless as you think...

Erm, dude, you don't need Cloaking V to use the Covert Ops Cloaking Device.
Level IV is fine. All the training time you invested taking Cloaking to level V could have been used to take the Covert Ops skill to level IV and you would have no CPU problems whatsoever.
You can use an Anethama with Covert Ops IV and Cloaking IV and it works perfectly, no fitting problems whatsoever.

I didnt train cloaking to lvl5, I already bought the Covops cloak some time ago (I thought the Covops bomber used them) and found out it only needed lvl4. I had lvl4 part trained so it only needed another 3 days to complete it.
What I got upset about (probably too upset really )is that I trained Amarr frigate to lvl5 and then Covops to lvl1 (total 13 days), only to find that I still didn't have a Covops ship really because the Covops Cloak won't fit on it due to CPU (or lack thereof). After then doing the math, I realised I wouln't be able to fit it unless I had Covops lvl3 which was a furhter day of training.
Since the Anathema requires Covops lvl3 at the very least to enable you to mount the cloak, it should be made a requirement of the Anathema rather than lvl1. Once you have completed the skill training to lvl3 to fly it, you now have a Covops ship. Admittedly, you can't mount much else but at least you can mount the cloaking device which is really the whole point in having that ship to begin with.
I know there are those who think an extra day isn't much but I keep a strict regime of training and have my skills planned for the next year. Along with target isk amounts to gain by the time certain skills complete and most of the things coincide with subscriptions as well. This now means that my plans will have to be altered and targets revised. Last time I did this (after the foul up with Covert Bombers), it took me well over a day to redo all my plans and targets. It took me a day and a half this time because there were more entries than last time. I try to alternate long and short skills to allow for patchdays etc so I can just swap them over with little disruption to my schedule.
So what appears to be a day of skill training which is no big deal, is actually a day and a half of reworking spreadsheet calculations for me. Now maybe you might understand why I was a bit miffed about it.

If you have less then level 3, you'll need CPU upgrades (CoPro II for example).
I fly an Arazu, and have my Recon Ships to level 5, thus a Cloak takes 0 CPU and 1 Powergrid.
But, my warp scram will have a 60km range once the new changes take place \o/

You need to either train the skill up or mount some Co-Proc IIs. In actual fact to use a cov ops effectively you want cov ops skill to level 4.

Yeah. Frankly despite the fact I can mount guns on my cheetah there is no reason to. There are few situations I can think of that I would be tempted to fight in one. Its a very good intelegence gatherer and once shoudl fucus in that. If you dont mount guns your need for CPU is lessened. Thats said its a good idea to train cov ops to 4 anyway, as it increases your options.
Of course this situation only cane around recently when they bosted the CPU need of the cloaks, as people were mounting them on titans. OF course they did not adjust the cpu of the cloaking frigs to compensate.
