Wouldn't work Seng, she's talking about back in alpha.
While I wish I could claim that title - I was, as I like to boast a bit, in the old 100-man alpha test (with my old P3 733mhz and 384mb of RAM to boot), but I was hardly the first to log in. As was evidenced by how often I got blown out of the sky.
I don't remember offhand who first logged into that alpha test (gord, was that alpha 6 or alpha 7? It's been four years now, my memory grows fuzzy... alpha 6 I think...) but I'm fairly certain the oldest hands like Reynir or Kjartan would know, or at least have a record. -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?
Player of the character "Andre Ricard". |

well it would depend which version of eve your talking about way back in the development stage a really early build of EVE was only in 2d. Look @ the making of eve video.

hehe! well what really happened was pretty simple;) this was one of my first characters i made and it was about the first week of release in america. i had never played the game before so i had no idea what the alien-badguy names were in eve.
i planned for this character to fly around space and help other players, so i named it with the word 'angel' in it. the travel between regions near release was a heck of a lot harder than it is nowdays if ya'll remember;) so truth be told, after 2 months of playing i still hadn't even gone to visit minmatar space, there was so much else to do. i had never once encounterd a blood-angel npc or an angel cartel.
one day i log in and see my name was changed- i thought it was a bug! and reported it... turns out the name was too similar to an npc name so it was changed. understandable.
i was kinda bummed at the time losing my cool original name, but in retrospect this one is kinda cool now;)

most likely it was someone who knew the devs, and volunteered to help test their build ---------

So, along the same lines, who's the oldest active character now?

My main was born on 2003.05.08 20:45. I think that can be beaten, but not by much... any advances?

I think that was when the game launched it says in the eve site, but the alpha/beta were probably 6 months before that.

A lot more than 6 months before that
The first would've been a dev obviously ;p

Was referring to a person that some how heard of the game downloaded it checks the map after an hour and realises his the only dot in the entire eve universe .
But i suppose there must of been a few devs playing that day.

I am young and sexy, so I wouldn't know, but I'd have to agree that the first playerid belongs to dev who is greedily hogging it until he can sell it for millions on ebay. ;)

A Dev posted a list last year of the 10 oldest players and 10 oldest corps.
Dagny is the oldest character and I think Colossus Technologies are the oldest corp.

I think Oveur might know. I think I remember him saying that he was in beta, voulenteered for ISD or something, and eventually became an official member of CCP.
