I would like to thank the following Gentlemen for their Professionalism during a recent encounter I had with them:
ADR1AN
VOSI
both of VETO Corp.
I would like to thank these Pilots for their professionalism as Pirates. They engaged me without smack talk, took my ship done to structure, opened up a convo to ask for the ransom for my ship, which I could not pay unfortunately, and then after destroying my ship, ransomed me for my life (pod). Once again I could not pay the ransom.
HOW they conducted the encounter was flawless.
The ransom amount they quoted was fair and equitable for a Pilot of my flight hours and ship type.
All things considered, it was my pleasure to be podded by these Pilots of VETO, and when I get ransomed again, I hope it's by you guys....being truelly and honorably Pirated sure beats getting ganked at a gate or a belt for absolutely no *apparent* reason.
Well Done ADR1AN and VOSI, if I wasn't so poor all the time (I stink bad at making ISK) I would have paid the ransom. ... Keep up the good work guys :)
VETO Corporation Leadership: If these Pilots are an example of how all your Pilots perform their duties, I commend you.

Both of them are a perfect example of how our corp typically operates.
I'm glad you enjoyed your experience, and that my members are doing their job.

Well, I did say in their recruitment thread. Ransoming is never the same again after you have been Vetoed. Makes you want to be ransomed every night, dont you? ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

If only all our ransoms went as well... Ahh well.
Thanks for the compliments dude. Although you should know that Vosi has a terrible flatulence problem. So I would steer well clear of him in future. [center]Rookie pirate?click the sig |

Something about thanking someone for podding you strikes me as pathetically sycophantic.

Kalixa and Ceiri, your replies seem to suggest that I might be a lil "off", but that is not the case at all. Ladies, please allow me to explain the basis of my statements...
I have been playing EVE for almost two years now (thru various characters), and a few "facts" about my particular game experience (as a player regardless of character played) have been constant:
1.) I absolutely STINK at combat...no really...I do. I have lost every single PvP fight I have been in.
2.) In almost every case I was attacked and podded for no apparent reason known to me. Sure I got podded for being in alliance space without an invitation, and podded in a corp war or two, but all others happened with no communication with my aggressor before, during, or after the event. I was the one that sent them a convo or email.
3.) After dying as many times as I have, it gets easier and one starts to learn something from the experience, especially if you lose. Besides, I am a ShipWright, I can replace what was lost with the work of my own hands.
and 4.) This time, the aggressors took the time to offer me, the prey, a CHOICE...pay a ransom or die. Compared with all my other death experiences, it was refreshing to not only get a choice, but to be given the choice by two Professionals that did not smacktalk or belittle me. The Pirates in question got down to business and were respectful during the "event".
I find that a welcome change of pace from getting ganked simply to be another entry on a killboard somewhere. This is a game, yes a game were it matters how many times you die, and yet....does it REALLY matter how many times? Or does it matter more how it happens and how a player takes it? I might suffer a loss or die in EVE from time to time, but I get up, brush myself off, and try again.
I also had fun. Now That was important.

Gardavil I agree with you, it is just a game. Just have fun, damn real life is serious enough just trying to survive. And if you have your clone updated...poof you are right back into the game. What is the big deal. I think what gets some players steamed is the smack talk and such during and after the fact. I just laugh...sometimes I laugh so hard at what they are trying to say I can't even see what i am doing. Alot of them are not very clever and the louder some one talks usually means that they are trying to mask a weakness. But I am glad to see there are other players that enjoy the game for what it is....and use the game as an escape from the pirates in real life...like oil companies and the tax man.

I have a dream that one day victims will be able to find a nice middle ground between:
"ZOMFG HAX PETITION I HATE YOU YOUR MOM SMACK YOUR SISTER SMACK SMACK"
and
"Thank you for allowing me the honor of being defeated by you. I only hope that you will like me enough to kill me again, as it clearly made my life. Thank you sir, may I have another!"
Example of this middleground: "Well played, good fight, maybe next time, etc."
Lesson: You don't gotta suck-up to be a good sport.
But OFC, Veto is so pwn that it's probably hard for their victims to feel anything but awe and respect.
