1) Installer had issues, due to "default ''" on numeric types. MySQL 5 doesn't like this at all. I removed all defaults from your CREATE TABLE statements and it worked.
2) You still have a redirect to your servers's IP, which appears (to the startled person who gets redirected there) that you're stealing passwords. Upon closer inspection it seems that's not the case, but it very well could have been.
3) Having to manually edit the database to set access is a little clunky, most folks won't know how to do that sort of thing.
Once I got the above sorted out, it worked. I'm not entirely sure if this utility will be useful or not, my corporation wanted to evaluate it, so I set it up locally for them to look at. It's a good start, if nothing else!

Edited by: Randay on 06/06/2006 05:02:04 ah cool. originally i didnt plan on releasing the code. guess i missed that redirect. its fixed now and i will edit first post to reflect that. as you can see there is a lot of (now) useless debug code, feel free to clean that up too
also about manually editting the database, you are welcome to make a little page to set superuser :P. as for the install.php, i will leave it like that but im sure people can figure it out after reading your post.
thanks for the input. i think i am just happy that someone will finally make use of my first php project. a pity i couldnt host it like i wanted because of that whole pos paranoia thing.

I'm about to install it, just following the hints of the poster a little bit above and already have one suggestion:
It might be useful to be able to set some prefix for the tables in the config.php... as especially a table "user" is quite common in all sorts of applications, most of them uses prefixes already, so it's not *that* bad. Just makes it easier if one runs more than one app in the same DB.

hehe, okthen I will add it :) I have to do a lot of bugfixing anyway since I got a sort of paranoid server setup PHP-Wise and currently it's not really working at all.
Hint: don't use short tags ( <? ) as that's not working on some more restricive setups, luckily there's not much in your code to change for that (to <?php in every case). Same goes for HTTP_SERVER_VARS, altho that might be an issue with PHP5, I think that in later PHP4 versions you could disable those global variables as well (there are other, less security relevant ways)... I'll get into that and send you the new version (if you want) :)

Sure, I would love a copy. What exactly is wrong with using HTTP_SERVER_VARS? Is there another way of calling those vars? As for the short tags that is something to remember for next time I guess. I am working on another project, hopefully itll be a bit more public-friendly. Thanks for the input. -------------------------------------------

It was designed with a corp-wide tool in mind. You couldn't very well share your paper, pencil, and calculator over the internet now could you? Well, actually you could but it would be a lot more work depending on how many people in your corp help to manage your POSes. If its any consolation, I did use a pen and notebook to help design and code it, even a calculator, though it was a handy dandy scientific calculator that ran on cosmic light and chemical reactions, not the good old abacus. Also the pen was retractable, and it had gel-ink, wasnt one of those good pens where the ink and the pen is seperate and then you gotta dip it into the ink and hold it the right way to get the right thickness. Also the notebook was bound together with metal wires, and it had a perforrated edge so you could rip out a page and still have a straight edge on it. -------------------------------------------

the install.php file should create all the tables you need. Once installed, you need to register your user and then look it up in the user-table. There you set the accesslevel to 3. (either use a graphical tool like phpmyadmin or build the UPDATE-Statement yourself, it's not that hard: UPDATE user SET access = 3 WHERE name = 'Lufio II';
Replace the Lufio II with the charactername you used for registering.)

There may or may not be an issue with sovereignty correctly being passed to the DB, due to a change in the way that IGB gives values for a checkbox.
Also might be a new and improved version going up, and maybe an even more detailed setup walkthrough. -------------------------------------------

More users. No access licenses. Runs on ye olde 200MHz server. Semi-static information that other team members can update. Kills trees faster, unless you're one of them weirdos with a solar powered webserver.
In truth, you don't need this kind of software if you have only one terminal or office to worry about.

Randay, sovereignity should be an editable setting, because it's a thing that can change over time and you need to account for it.

it is editable only when adding a new POS. So here I am, setting up a POS in a system; I go to this fantabulous piece of software in IGB and add a POS and fill in stuff and all is well. I truthfully leave sov checkbox unchecked. However, in 5 days or so my POS generates sov claim; of course I want it to be reflected in the calculations by the fantabulous software - but alas! when I click "edit", I can only change fuel amounts but not sov status. The only way to account for the newly acquired sovereignity is to delete a pos listing and create it anew, which is, let's say, not exactly convenient, especially if you have a few structures in it to select from all the listboxes again.
Is this clearer? I mean, I want to be able to toggle sov status in the "edit" page, not only during adding a pos.

Oh, guess thats something I forgot about or just never realized. I didnt get much testing because I dunno... people didnt want to touch the beta phase for fear of me giving away thier pos info or something. some day it might get added in. you are welcome to do it yourself though. As it is I have very little time to fix that, sorry. It shouldnt be too hard for someone to fix though. -------------------------------------------

It's on my list to add as well already. Another thing I will add probably during this weekend (if Randay doesn't do it that is) is adding a checkbox for outpost coverage, as that affects fuel usage even further if I'm not mistaken (I think it was another 25%).

Ive installed this. Its great, i think we'll give it alot of use.
Here are a few issues I found:
Not all of our sturtures are always online.
on tower status, it displays the time of enriched uranium only even if thats not the first to run out
As far as outpost making a diffrence on fuel, i wish, but nope :( Atm, its right on.

Randay, this your first major PHP project?
If so, not bad. I just installed the site last night, and fiddled with it. It has some glitches, but they're minor.
However, I'm probably going to do a massive overhaul on the permissions aspect, making it use corp roles to manange view/edit/admin permissions.
Also, I'll be adding names for towers, and possibly more precise locations, for those corps who have multiple POS's in one system.
If you want a copy of my changes when I'm done, contact me here or shoot me an EVE mail.

yes, my first. I wanted to work on it more, but public support was iffy at best due to the rampant nature of spying in eve. Plus I got a new job, less time for personal hobbies, and Im not about to cut out gaming :P. As for using corp roles, thats a good idea. I think I didnt include that initially because I didnt want to think of a way to parse that whole corp role value, but I saw that eve script thing, nifty. Also I wanted the site to be accessable by out of game browsers, which would have posed a problem if they had the corp role removed and then just didnt use the igb. But now that I think about it it probably wont be used much out of game anyway.
Good luck on your modifications. If you want to share with others let me know and we can get a version to me and ill put it up for download and update the thread. -------------------------------------------

Same problem as me. The MySQL version is older than the OP i think. It doesnt like the JOIN command. Use a differnt join style such as:
SELECT * FROM pos_structures ps, structure_static ss WHERE ps.type_id = ss.id
Works fine for me afterwards.

This Software is Great!! Thank you!!
But I would like 1 request. Not everyone has a large number of databases to play with. For your tables, could you please add an extension to them like say. "pos_user" for the tables. then you can allow me to install this in the same database as other php/mysql applications. ------------------- Sig removed, please stay away from extremely cute and cuddly sigs, email [email protected] if you have any questions |

I am working on adding the silo feature. I will work on it at my liesure have to make isk in game so this takes back seat. The assumptions are that the silo will fill all the time.
I also working on the structures on and offline , the problem with that is you will have to update all your structures everytime you turn one on and off. I am not sure this is worth the effort. If people think so let me know and I will move forward.
The last piece that i have just finished and is in testing is the Pos fuel shopping list. I have added a field that asks how many days of fuel do you wish to have on hand per pos. It will calculate and display a list of materials you need to buy to bring supplies up to your on hand level. This I think can be made available to any corp memeber. This way they can help buy the pos fuel. It will be nice to be at a station and be able to buy the correct amount of fuel needed. Never have to guess again.

with the silos, it depends if the silo is the source or output.
On structure, I know alot of corp leave sturtures anchored at there POS that they keep offline and dont use very often.
Alos, in regard to using ingame titles and such to configure access, Id rather set those myself. First, they may change. Second, I want to be aware of who has access.

Very nice tool, thanks for releasing it to the public. I added 3 functionnalities to it. - You can claim ownership on a pos - Pos under 48h of fuel will be highlighted. - I'm currently finishing the "toggle sovereignty" option.
Ps : since I didn't see any licence attached to the pos tracker, I won't release the modified source unless Randay wishes so. --

You also need to switch Strict mode off in my.ini else you won't be able to add any structures.

in track.php at line 18 you have the following code.
$sql = "SELECT * FROM pos_info WHERE corp = '" . $_SESSION['corp'] . "' ORDER BY status";
All you need to do is change it to
$sql = "SELECT * FROM pos_info WHERE alliance = '" . $_SESSION['alliance'] . "' ORDER BY status";
And then modify user-transaction.php and add at line 28 (before redirect('track.php');) : $_SESSION['alliance'] = $row['alliance'];
I didn't try it tbh but it should work --

As I already said, it would really help if Randay could allow me to release the modified source. I could do it now but since he stated he might want to make isk with it later, I don't want to ruin his business plan ;) Well it's more a matter of ethics, Randay remains the orignal code writer and I'd prefere to have his ok before releasing the source.
Lets hope he'll read this antytime soon ;)

The code needs to be optimised and some tweaking is needed for the IGB. I made some tests with more than 35 poses and the eve client just freeze for 10s because he doesn't like large tables.
Then it would need some security audit cause right now, I saw about 4 SQL Injection vulnerabilities and I wasn't even looking for them. So my best advice would be, it's a great tool we have there, the work done on data handling is impressive and deserves a thumbs up but don't use an hosted one yet ;) --

So my best advice would be, it's a great tool we have there, the work done on data handling is impressive and deserves a thumbs up but don't use an hosted one yet ;)

you can add it easyly to the structures table and you can use it... good that everything is in tables and can be changed...
btw I've found an dangerous bug:
if you go into the edit menue of a POS and leave it without changingy anything, the pos tracker save the time of this as last fuel update and the fuel calc is not right anymore... i also searching the bug but haven find it yet.

Wow people are actually using my pos thing! yay. I did originally want to try and sell it as a service, but it was impossible to get off the ground like that, so I released it as source because having people actually use it was more important then making money off of it!
That said I have no problem with you releasing any modified source, provided that its free and open to anyone! If you want you can just make a new thread, and I'll update this one with a link to it. I would work with you to update this thread but frankly as you already know I don't spend too much time on this atm.
Im sure your additions and anyone elses additions to the source is greatly appreciated by those who use this thing. Personally I think your additions are great and I'd like to thank you for taking the time to improve this tool. And thanks to everyone who uses it too. -------------------------------------------

Thanks for getting back to the post Randay.
I've made a couple of amendments to fit in with how i see it working for us. namely removing the .SESSION[CORP] from both the track, and admin pages so that you can view the pos's even if your not in the corp who owns said pos's.
There maybe a bug in the register.php as i don't think it likes frickin' in the corp title. So i had to manually add the user into the sql database.
Hitting enter on the page to login instead of clicking on the button also doesn't work it takes you to a blank screen instead of to track.php.

It's because of the ' What you need is add backslashes to special chars.
The enter bug is an IGB problem, sadly.
I will soon release the new code with out of game mail alerts and alliance support but I'd like to correct a few things before. ;)
And yeah, thank you randay for the hard work you put in this. --

Esaam in your code for "Pos under 48h of fuel will be highlighted" is that 1 color or 2?, it dawned on me, might be good to do 1 color(lets say yellow) for say 30-48hrs, and then another for 30hrs down gives a higher priority to the lower fuel, if they are allowed to drop that low

Atm it's four colors. one below 48 hours and one below 24. Plus, you have 2 more colors (overided by the fuel level ones) One for the poses you claimed One for the pos you just modified (so it eases the edit then view for control).
The out of game mail works as following : Under 48 hours, it mails the owner every 12 hours. Under 24 hours, it mails all the pos managers in the corp. (of course, you can change the levels ;))
I'm finishing a few heavy database modifications before releasing the new code. I'm adding silo support and for this I need some more fields and it breaks the downward compatibility).

if you put in evry tiny info you have aboute howto setup this . thene more people will love you
you create the database, the install.php creates the tables but with the major revamp thats coming, you might want to wait a bit and the process in the 1st post is 99% of the work, if you have webspace(or a personal server) that supports it

Depends on your needs tbh, i know looking after 1 pos is a pain but with more pos's comes more headache, your bound to miss refueling.
Some other thoughts would be an option to show how much fuel is in the corporate hanger array.
Then an option to show how much is needed to refuel a certain pos for 4 weeks say at current usage.
Or an option to say, i need these 3 pos's in the same location all refueled to a date in time, how much stuff do i need and mail it to me.
I'm assuming the silo option takes into account the reaction you are doing?
Anyone else any ideas?

A bit like that ?
The "place an order for some fuel is already hardcoded into the database, need to finish it"
I'm starting the silo part but the new tracker will be released without it as soon as I finished to modify the tables and field types so you won't need to change the whole database scheme again... --

I might go svn after the 1st release. I finished adding support for logistic projects. Ie : you assign poses to project and then you can get a fuel quotation for the whole project ;) I'm struggling a bit with silo / production support cause I don't want to get to the point where it would be more efficient to break everything and restart from scratch cause I know myself, I will break everything and then stop cause it will bore me

Screenshot of my features: http://krin.kydance.net/gallery/d/30-1/optimal_fuel.png
It calculates optimum by taking the current strontium levels, rounding it down so that there isn't any surplus that isn't needed to keep the current number of cycles, and then calculating the m3 needed for one full cycle of fuel. then it figures out how many full cycles can fit in the non-strontium used m3, and uses that number to calculate the units of each fuel type.

I Cant' login in IGB, it seems like the Session Vars get lost after the login phase, when it goes to the tracker.php, the session vars regarding to the user are null, and then gives the error:
You do not have access, ask your CEO for access! If your access has been set, please relog back in to the website!
I can register players, the login is the only problem.
When i use IE it all works fine.
Just added Structures for the stocking of fuel. Needs improvement though.

are you hitting enter?, or clicking the login button?, the enter in igb is a known issue
once session access has to be set, log out, then back in and it usually works
the dev release is nicer, and has more features, but you'd have to find it

When i go to XXX/install.php i get a blank white screen. I did a test and put the wrong database info and get a white screen with can not connect to data base. Anyone got any clue.
The onlything i can figure is i might have a bad file and i have tried redownloading and re installing with no success. So any help would be nice. If i have to i might try to create all fields and data by hand but that takes alot of work. Please let me know if you or anyone can help.

Having just installed this for personal use, I ask: Would you like me to write an install script for use in Linux environments?
For example, with the application of 'sed', you could easily replace the lines that need to be replaced in both config.php and redirect.php; as well as imho, it's far easier to do: mysql -u mysqluser -p postracker-db < create_database.sql
This could be automated, and with a good README file, you could make this quite a bit easier =).
