Whats up with the game currently unplayable affecting everyone by the looks of the Help channel and no info from CCP ?
Any thoughts anyone

I think they should shut just shut it down until it's playable. Lag is way too dangerous for many situations considering the value in time used to replace a lost ship. Lag in combat with drones or numerous ships is a nightmare.
I kind of feel like this potentially great game isn't going to work out because of this dealbreaking lag. That would be a shame.

Yes. CCP I know You are working on lot of bugs and it is hard to do all in one.
But laag is really anoying. When i connect every day I think what i will do ... finaly I see that just mining is only one action which is no efected by lag so much.
BUT I DO NOT WANT MINE EVERYDAY :)
It lokks it is not internet laag. It looks like database is not able to serv very quickly.
I am working like DB admin in bank (oracle) so I know that to plan to have efficient HW for high transactional systems is one of the critical thinks. Well of course another think is right setup od DB :)
Dou You have problems with HW or DB ?

once again this is all caused by the memory leak.
once the server ram has been filled with spam from the leak, it starts using it's virtual memory. (hdd) this is a massively slow process (comparatively) and is guarenteed to lag everything.
in these circumstances petition tech support for a server reboot. this will cure it for a little while. i'm of the opinion that eve needs resetting about 4 times a day at present.
at least until it gets fixed.

I think you said it yourself - I ditched the help channel, and I get less lag. Also the Trade channel. I'm not being funny - for some reason these channels seem to slow response right down.
Might not help everyone, but there you are
