You would have gotten a confirmation window to click on if you chose trash it by mistake
If you use EveMon look under the assets tab to see if it is listed and it's location if it is.

You get a confirmation window for repackaging, too, though (due to rigs, etc.).

Yep this is correct, reprocessing will give you the original ship, but no blueprint.
