I've been having a few probs with that recently, got transparent background, its transparent in PS, upload it and its just a white background, can't be my setting either, if I upload a basic transparent thingy it works fine.. And, Loxy, yours make me lol everytime. make sure that you do File > Save for web if you use photoshop. you have to turn off all mattes, and check any boxes marked 'transparency'. try saving as .gif as well :)
