Turn off active items, see if they have been for sale in your region recently using market history. If they have been, go to the sell point, wait until DT and put in a buy order just before the server goes down. Log in immediately the server comes up and put in a manual buy order. Chances are between these two you will get some SCs unless someone beat you to them. Once you have them you can then take a shower to get rid of that dirty feeling that you've been forced to do this by the way the whole thing has been coded.

Okay people lets go over this one more time.
The Superconductors on the market at ridiculously high prices are NOT MEANT TO BE PURCHASED.
In order for the Memory Implant quest to be awarded, Superconductors must be available in the regional market - putting them up for sale at 1M or more per unit helps ensure that they remain on the Market so that people doing Agent Missions can keep getting the mission offered. If these weren't on the Market you wouldn't even ever be offered the mission - so stop complaining about the high priced Superconductors.

ok follow that logic.....makes sence to me. when offered the mission does the agent give you the stock or is it a mission where you have to buy the stock ?

See here for an answer to this question.
Nothing like jumping around to the 30 threads people feel it necessary to start on the same exact subject so I can say the same things over and over again.

Faramir - I was refering to my personal sh!tlist :)
Veruca - I am sorry but this "I am only doing you all a favour" crap doesn't wash.
- If the seller doesnt really want to sell them he should have them up at 100 billion apiece not 1.5 mill.
- If he is "doing us a favour" why not have one item up for 100 Billion and another load with a sell order up for a fair price.
Your argument falls right over taking the above questions into account.
Lastly, whats the goddamned point in buying all the SC's up and putting them on the market again at stupid prices "just to enable the mem implant missions to be offered" not much bloody point being offered them if you cant actually afford the items that should be on the open market as circa 1K ISK is there?
So please, stop defending the actions of greedy oportunists (the correct term) you really can't justify their actions and make them out to be good guys at the same time.

I like putting up Polytextiles for 1 mill/apiece
I'm still hoping someone will buy them.

Edited by: Enderweeks on 25/09/2003 15:13:01 You need 50 Polytextiles for an implant mission so that will mean Charisma implants will start costing 50m+
FYI the others -
X amount of Ammo = Perception Implant
20 Holoreels = Willpower Implant
10 Miniature Electronics = Intelligence Implant
5 Super Conductors = Memory Implant
Edit for Spelling

Let me take you through the thought process, as I thought it out in my head: I'll put these up for an unreasonable price but not an astronomical one - that way they will stay on the Market and people will be able to get the mission, but if someone is desperate enough, rich enough, and too lazy to find another source for the Superconductors I can also make an easy 5M profit from them.
Makes sense, right? It did to me.

I never said it was a "favor" to you. All I said was without these items on the Market you wouldn't get the mission to begin with. At least in this situation you have a CHANCE to get the item. He could have hoarded them all, been one of the only ones in the game capable of generating memory implants, and then charged 60M per implant.
Instead he distributed them throughout many regions - and it costs you 2.5M to get an implant which sells on the Market for over 20M. Seems like a "favorable" situation to me.

You appear to have totally ignored this one:-
"why not have one item up for 100 Billion and another load with a sell order up for a fair price"
Also your scenerio where he buys up all the SC's and has a monopoly really doesnt wash - Didnt you forget that without any on market in region, no mission is generated, hence no monopoly on mem implants in that region.
Which is why the bit you forgot to argue was the most important part of my premise.
Doing what was done (and is still being done) was a purely opportunist act, with no other intention than to make money.
Anyone else care to join in and give their views on this?

Tiger absolutely agree. It's pure greed quick grab tactics, nothing to do with any 'righteous' aim to ensure the missions are available - thats a load of bull.
Mind you greed is encouraged, but this sucks hard. CCP need to get automatic random seeding of the required goods or make them available by another method otherwise it will just be the very rich who are able to get implants.

He does have them up for a fair price. 500k in most regions I have seen which is a perfectly reasonable price hike considering the value of the item you receive in return.
Quote: Didnt you forget that without any on market in region, no mission is generated, hence no monopoly on mem implants in that region.
Exactly. So he buys ever memory implant available. Puts one up on the Market for 1,000,000,000 ISK so nobody can buy it - and then he is the only one who can do the mission.
It's not that hard to piece together.

Opportunistic acts for profit are what EVE is all about, my friend.

Hmmm just got a standard mission asking me to buy 17 superconductors for an ally.
Somehow I think they are gonna be waiting on those superconductors a long long time lol.

hmm i happen to know where a rather large supply of super conductors are and may be willing to bring over a few to put on the market if i knew what regions they were primarily needed in and i'd sell them for alot less than 500k.
