Has anyone optimized this for Eve? My new motherboard came with this feature and I was wondering exactly how to set this up to place eve at the highest priority. I've set the "CCP Exefile" to 1 as well as the "Launcher Exefile" to 1. and CCP Browser to 2. Are there any other files that will effect the game play or does the program catagorize all the associated files under the exe file? |

Dafuq?
Dude, just install Eve, launch the game, and set the game's single process to high priority if that's what you're going for.
Honestly if your performance is poor to the point that you need to raise the priority of Eve, you purchased the wrong motherboard with the wrong socket. |

AaaanywayGǪ OP: the chances of any NIC-driver GÇ£special sauceGÇ¥ being left on your packets after they've gone through your cabling, your router, its cabling, your ISP's network and QoS and traffic shaping, the tiering etc. is pretty much nil. Beyond that, there's a far easier way to shape your own traffic: don't have a bunch of junk running in the background. Nice thread hijack for your little side conversation. Maybe CCP should implement a mail system for players to communicate in private. |

OP, I suggest you look at what files are participating in network traffic using Wireshark. I read a bit on "Killer" and it doesn't seem like it will provide you any benefits. EVE uses very little network bandwidth and unless you're starving it completely, making it a priority won't provide you any benefits.

Ok.. so I think my thread 'might' have been hijacked (sarcasm)
But in all seriousness I live in a third world place called the Ozark Mountains in Northern Arkansas. The best Internet connection I can get here is 1.5Mbps (with poor ping) so anything as simple as a windows update trying to download in the background can causes significant lag. I set the two files I found to 1 on priority and TS3 to 2. But what I'm wondering is if all of eve's network usage falls under "Eve.exe" or if there is a file I need to add to the list.
And to whoever said something about getting the wrong motherboard... I got a MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming... so.. yea pretty sure I got the right motherboard. |

Ah. You have no idea what e2200 is do you? It prioritized what programs using the internet. I can set my games to the highest priority and then if anything in the background tries to pull connection it will give my games priority.. |

In that case (as in pretty much all other cases as well), nothing you do on a NIC level will make any real difference GÇö it's your ISP that is causing you problems. Again, just make sure you don't have any junk running in the background and turn off all kinds of auto-updates so you can trigger them manually when you intend to be away for a while. You do understand that you can decide whether or not windows automatically download new updates? And yes, your motherbord looks like snake oil. My post might looks a bit rough, it is not directed at you but at the lies puts there by mobo marketing.
What looks fishy: * (3x) gold plating -- useless * OC Genie -- don't use that * Optimized for multiple graphics cards -- if it weren't, it would be a ****** motherboard. Wouldn't it? * Lucid Virtu MVP -- ? * Military Class III components -- Yeah right. Those are not military class. * The highest frag and the lowest lag with KillerGäó E2200 -- (note the Gäó)
If all those things weren't so depressing, I would die of laughter. There is more, I just can't bring myself to continue reading. Most of the features of your motherboard are pure marketing BS.
Anyway, your network controller (KillerGäó E2200) looks like a standard one, with no real advantages over the others except the software that comes along. If you notice an improvement, good for you. But it won't fix your networking issues by itself. I recon that it might help, but not in the way you think it will. It might be useful to allow you to download something while being able to play a multiplayer game, without drops in framerate. However, if you do not have a lot of bandwidth, this tech will not help you. You'll be better off closing or preventing any process that might download things.

---
And please, you're not in a third world place, you live in the USA. A third world citizen would hardly be able to buy a "MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming", let alone play eve online! There is a huge difference between your place and an actual third world "place". |
