I have been trying to play with this latest patch for a week now and I can no longer stomach this junk you call a game. Who is the complete idiot who allowed the 1217 patch to move into production?
Bookmarks are almost useless because they cannot be organized.
Corpmate hangers are nerfed and you can no longer swap gear without both members docked.
CTD happen every 15 to 20 minutes.
The lag is now so bad it takes almost 4 minutes to complete a log in sequence.
One of our corpmates has reported 52 new bugs since the release of 1217. 52! 50 farking 2!
Please please please do me a favor....someone call me when this game is fixed, and do not charge me until it is fixed. In fact, I want a refund for this month.
Its gawd damn crap.

The problem as you have testified to, is that everytime they attempt to fix something, they break other things, so don't expect that call anytime soon.
They even state in the latest csm chat, that they won't be fixing some of the issues mentioned for 1-3 months from now.
I agree the game is unplayable now.
Looking forward to Horizons which is scheduled to release 11/11. www.istaria.com

Jorev,
I'm not interested in another game where I have to hunt for hours to find the magic purple dwarf and cut off his head hoping he will drop the "Uber Angel's Magic Belt of Strong Urination".
I waited for eve for 18 months and after 4 months and 2 horrible patches I'm ready to scream.

Well if you like self abuse, stay with EVE.
You know their track record for fixing problems is horrible and only surpassed by the lack of communication on these forums.

Well I am not in beta so can't swear it will be a great game and completely bug free, but I know EVE sucks donkey balls and nothing could be worse at this stage.
Hell, even go back to EQ would be better than playing EVE, god forbid.

WoW may be a good choice also, but no release date in sight yet.
I do think Horizon's character models look better than WoW's though. WoW's characters have this silly Hanna-Barbera goofy look to them. Scooby scooby do.

I'm not experiencing any serious problems.. Sinces an Amiga 500 game with a simular layout about 10 years ago, I've waited for something like EVE to come along, and I won't be discouraged by a 50 farking 2 bugs or 500 farking 2 bugs.

stick with it lester. i know ure anger as do a lot of people but give it a bit of time im sure they will turn the tide it was going great before the last patch so im sure they can get it back stable again. and the game itself suffers if peeps like you arent around to mingle with. just keep another game to hand and spend a couple of hours on that instead as a form of anger management

I 150% agree with you, and well done for not comming on and saying "EVE SUCKS, I QUIT". Good to see some mature players. The bugs will probably be fixed, until then, put a long training skill on and go do something else. When you come back everything will be better ;)

YA the list of bigs would take about 3 pages to get all listed.. also with the nerf to chain spawning theres not much else for legit combat characters to do now.. I guess we'll all be camping gates and popping indys soon.. because having to roam belts looking for NPC's that just run away from you or refuse to repop is more hassle than its worth now.

hehe have fun with Horizons, but if you want a game that's stable and non-buggy don't go to horizons right away. I beta test horizons and there is no way it'll be ready by the "projected" release date IMO.
Just so ya know.

yeah, what's up with NPC pirates runing away? One time I had two spawns, 3 50K pirates, and a spawn of 1 50K and 3 40Ks, at a same time. Now I am not yet sure if that's a bug or intended.
For some reason I really think it's a bug. -

Although I believe alot of great work has been done in AI of NPCs. I specially enjoy being spawned from behind while slowing moving up on other spawns. Makes for great fun.
But, what the hell makes these guys nerf bookmarks again and again?
Why the redo of the eve-mail interface?
Why no Bistot respawning?
Why all of the sudden we have gun jams, mining lasers that won't engage from 3500m, bookmarks that are fine in an indy but drop your frigate light years away?
Oh, and the cheating bastage cops!! webbing from 25km away, warping in and firing in an instant! My bullsheeet meter goes way off the scale there.

no MMORPG is going to be bug free straight away, and i believe the CCP team are doing a great job in ironing out the bugs. yes, the mail interface now SUCKS, and why the hell did they change the green bar for corp mates to some stupid green/red target thing? give them time and i think all the issues will be delt with. EVE is too much of a good thing to give up, even with the bugs. there is no other game that can imerse me so completely in a fictional world, where i have made many friends from across the globe.
if you want to give up on EVE fine, but don't you dare ask for your money back, because no-one forced you to subscribe to the game, and no-one is keeping you here.

Ph0enix.. you have to be joking!
the game is now in a WORSE state than it was in beta 5, 6, or 7.
its not getting more bug free, its getting more bug filled, and with hardly any content or world objects added. a few eye candy objects around the map dont count, they dont do anything.. they are just that.. eye candy.
only difference is now we have an abundance of blueprints with everyone having access, other than that.. its worse than beta.

Lester,
All I can say is,
You'd better be logged in tonight
I know it's frustrating buddy; because it frustrates me too. I see a ton of amaturish mistakes going on with this game, and I'm hoping that this all gets fixed soon; because this is the last MMORPG I will ever buy. I like the concept that Eve began as, and I like the "planned features", but I can do without the breaking of things that weren't broken before.
My Eve gaming experience does seem to get more worse each day, and sometimes with each patch. The latest CSM chat log has certainly confirmed my professional speculation of the CCP QA process, there isn't one. __________________________________________________

Well I expect it to have some bugs and some balancing required like all games after initial release, but waiting is not an option since you will be at a disadvantage if you do, compared to other players who have completed the learning curve and advanced in power and earnings.
I played EQ since the first day it was released, for over 3 years, and EQ never had the stability problems that EVE is having.
I have complaints about EQ and would avoid playing another SOE game, but mainly due to their poor customer service and game philosophy of forced grouping.
When EQ was released, it was released in difficult mode, nerfed down and made easier by reducing the death penalty and continuously adding abilities and spells and conveniences that made the game easier.
I didn't agree with that since I like a challenge and believe in a significant death penalty, and don't think all character types should be equal thus offering variety in strength/weaknesses, but what CCP did was worse.
EvE was released in easy mode and nerfed up, by moving high quality ore to 0.0 space, nerfing convoy drops, nerfing chain spawns etc., making it more difficult, which hands the early players a huge advantage in earnings and power so that there is now an inherent unsurmountable gap for new players.

Hehe... you must not remember the first 6months of EQ ... UO had similar issues. All lag and no play make for a boring day. Eve is better in this respect. Somedays it's bad, some batter ..but all in all, its actually had a better release.
"...which hands the early players a huge advantage in earnings and power so that there is now an inherent unsurmountable gap for new players..."
How is this the case? new players can by all means play more and make more then old players, unless you speaking in reference to power players, and even then, new players can still catch up as the older players lose items and ships ... how are new people at a great disadvantage? Talking about skills? Focus on the attributes and up the skills your good at. You can beat old players in skills points.
What other disadvantage?
You can do anything you set your mind to. |
