Lets face it, some of us have some garbage skills. People who have obssessive compulsive disorder like me cringe everytime they open up their character sheet and see mining drone operation or mining, refining, salvaging, etc.
This is especially true for people who buy and sell characters on the bazaar. There are some really good characters out there that could be trained into exceptional characters but someone in 2005 decided they wanted to try manufacturing. Ruined.
Please consider letting us clean up our skillsheets by deleting skills. |

you can already delete skills. ...Just let your clone lapse then have someone pod you over and over 'til you have no skills left. under no circumstances should you ever be refunded SP for you "deleting" your skills. -á-á- remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not-á "afk" cloaking-á-

If ocd this bad you would turn down a very good char at a very good price only becuase they trained, gasp, manufacturing....seek professional help. Seriously, not even trolling.
I have mild ocd, ccp has helped worked that. I know, shocked me too. I hate odd numbers like 3. Yet that is what I have put my strat cruisers skills on purpose at (I don't t3 pvp, don't need the edge of cooking longer)... Overtime I saw the 3's and it did not bother me so much. Small victory, but a victory none the less.
In rl...I'd say have a kid(s). Going around reorganing your perfect world after they get curious and touch and move things gets tiring . Unless ocd is unhealthy levels....eventually you go with the flow more often than not.
A little bit of controlled chaos good for you the take away. |

Someone asked at Fanfest about deleting loyalty points that were at very low levels, because of OCD, or else just hiding them, The devs response was like 'yeah, why not.' Would hiding the skills that you don't want be enough for you? |

I certainly don't think that people should be allowed to delete skills and get the SP refunded to place elsewhere, but I didn't see the OP asking for that.
Just simply deleting a skill (and losing the SP) I don't see any downside to, if a player wants to do that, Eve is a Sandbox after all.
I can see some valid reasons for wanting to do this besides OCD, most notably wanting to reduce clone upgrade costs. For example an alt with 1.2M LP, you might want to get rid of a few skills to return it to an Alpha Clone with sub 900K SP and never have to worry about being podded and forgetting to upgrade your clone again.
The suggestion about just getting podded over and over again is just stupid. You can't choose what skill gets deleted, it is always the highest tier skill. You probably want to keep your Cyno or basic cloaking skills and choose smaller skills that they never use, but would never get removed by podding until you have lost 100 of thousands, if not millions of useful SP that you wanted to keep. So many people whine against it, it's staggering. OP didn't ask for refund of SPs, just removing them. I agree, that would be nifty feature. But make it so that the total SPs do not get lower -> same clone costs. With that, I have zero problems with removing unwanted skills. |

Isnt it also staggering, how few of us beging for a completly useless feature only for their own epeen?
Also deleting skills would hit the Charakter Bazar, (cheapens it so its easier to sell it). Meet the Mario Kart 8 - Capsuleer Club Cup |

How would it hit anything? As far as I know, people who sell characters are deciding the price. They can go cheaper already ... just by y'know, setting lower price. That is not an issue at all.
I see no problems having "useless" feature in. |

Yes there are. For example, Ice Harvesting is garbage skill if you also don't have Mining Barge. Back in the time when I still had access to rookie help, I didn't really knew what to focus on so I trained that skill to level 3. I don't ever want to train Industry to V so I ended up with wasted SPs and a useless skill cluttering up my character cheet. Also not having Mining Barge as a prerequsite skill for Ice Harvesting is a design flaw, if you look at other similar skills (such as Cloning Facility Management). If we can trash assets, why can't we trash our skillpoints and un-inject skills? The only reason why someone could consider this to be a bad idea is to restrict damage a hacker can cause to an account, but that can be limited by capping an amount of how many SP you could delete (let's say 256k every year).

Instead of deleting, unlearn at the same rate it took to learn in the first place (base value most likely to account for any implants that may have changed the duration) and the allocate those skills where needed. If it took 42 days to learn Xskill it will take 42 to unlearn it. Its paying the time twice for the convenience to change the skill set you have. |

Battleship isnt a prereq for large turrets, you cna train any size missile without training a ship, so making barges a prereq for ice harvesters doesnt make sense.
Also, its still not "garbage", since if at any point you CHOOSE to go and try industry, you already have ice-3 |

If you want to flat out delete skills, with no compensation or reimbursement, I'm fine with that, but I think it's a waste of dev effort to implement.
At no point, and in no way, should the ability to remap skill points ever be granted (even the proposed unlearning method). You don't want the skill. Fine delete it, I don't really care. But you never, ever get that skill training time back in any fashion. GÇ£SandboxGÇ¥ does not mean that you will succeed at anything you attempt; it means you can attempt anything you want to succeed at. One of the largest obstacles in the way of your success is other players. |

I don't see a harm in being able to entirely delete a skill aslong as it doesn't result in out of hand SP reimbursement.
I can kind of unsterstand the need to tidy it up though it doesn't unduly bother me but looking at some of the skills I have half trained from early days before I really knew what I was doing does sometimes make me wish I could unlearn them. |
