You can easily (two mouse clicks) disable JavaScript to circumvent sites that disable right-click, and then enable it again so things that really do need JavaScript still work.

Pretty simple for me. Firefox loads up in 2 seconds. IE loads up in 10 secs. Same ISP, same computer, same starting page. I can't think of a better reason, but I'm sure there are plenty.

Although i prefer Firefox's interface, adaptability, and pretty much everything about it i'm forced to use IE.
Since updating to XP's service pack 2 i've found that firefox locks up almost constantly, running for a few seconds before freezing again. I've checked the numerous help sites and so forth but haven't found an answer to my problem. No other component on my PC has changed...
So yes, if i could get it to work properly my favourite feature would be the tabbed browsing.

After I posted that started me thinking, so theres some more stuff:
SessionSaver - Even IE has tabbed browsing now (with addons), but FF can also remember which tabs you have opened. And I close FF only when I must restart my computer. Now that I've seen Tab Mix Plus it seems he does same thing and more, maybe I should switch to him. ImageZoom - Zoom images FTW (Although there are IE addons for that afaik)
Oh, and another very important fact. Firefox is not developed by Microsoft the DAEDALUS PROJECT |

Guys, you're so last week. get IE 7 :/
imo its better than Firefox, and it looks better on my PC too.
So, I miss a few features of Firefox, like a password/user remember that works when you want it to work, but thats not really worth going back towards imo. -------------------------------------------

I use both depending on what I am doing.
I still prefer IE, I don't need half the features Firefox provides. I browse web pages and at the end of the day, the majority of commercial websites are still designed primarily with IE users in mind so tend to look better in IE than any other browser.
It's like arguing one mobile phone is better than another because it has more games, a camera, and media player. At the end of the day all you really want is to make phonecalls and send texts!
The only people who want to switch javascript off with one click and back on again are surfing for **** anyway! |

I hate the **** defense
This post was moved with this web site It has right click disabled, and I wanted to download the game (300MB!) with FlashGet rather than with browser downloader. So that got me thinking how FF is better than IE, and I posted here.
Also, even though some sites are optimised for IE that doesnt mean they look bad in FF. Unless the designers worked to deliberately worsen the display in FF. (Please post URLs with examples if you disagree about this last point) the DAEDALUS PROJECT |

Well... lets see.
Its buggy as hell, its completely insecure (to the point where the government has stopped using it), and its a totaly ripoff (and an inferior one, to say the least) of Firefox. Nor does it have any useful extensions. Its support for all standards sucks, too.

IE6 isn't beta, and they don't use that either, because its massively insecure. IE7 hasn't fixed the vulnerabilities inherent in IE7, and thus they won't use that, either.

I have a beta copy of IE7 i never installed. I was going to, but i couldn't be arsed in the end. Also, any browser that doesn't let me middle-click to load up a new tab is totally inferior

Middle-click doesn't work here... Latest Firefox, latest Logitech mouseware, mx500 mouse.
Edit: nvm, you obviously meant clicking on a link with middle button. I assumed you used it to open a new empty tab.

Oh, and dont forget this. My mate from college decided to test IE 7 out, he managed to get the following error while browsing on 12 pages using the tabbed browsing function...."Out of system memory" Just to be clear, that means that IE took 2,5 Gig's of ram for 12 websites.
And a friend of us, studying at the same IT-college, managed to crap out his entire windows install by uninstalling IE7. He had to reinstall the OS
So yeah...i think that i am going to stay with Mozilla for a while longer.
Oh, and to get on topic again. My main reason why i am using Mozilla (And i am not meaning Firefox) is plain and simple the tabbed browing function and the build in Irc chat function. ______________________________

It's BETA. BETA = Unoptimized. Doom 3 and Unreal Tourney 2003 took up 4-5x more memory during betas then release as the whole point is to test functionality, not performance (in the early betas at least).

Well geeh. Hench "i think that i am going to stay with Mozilla for a while longer." I learned from day one here that running beta versions is a big no no for me. ______________________________

I demand that to be hax.
back in the day when I didn't know this I used to download the media in question, switch to offline and then somehow a download box would popup.
That was on FF -------------------------------------------

Middle-click on a tab closes it also.
