Okay So i see a raven im im fairly sure i can take him him his 2 vs (1me) Being Sentrys and his t2 raven vs me. So i follow him and jump into the next system with him yay when he uncloaked hes im scram range i lock him down bam insta melt his shields because he forgets to turn on his hardners i convo when im in his low Hull i Say 40mill or i kill you. he goes okay okay ill pay. i stop shooting him and he keeps shotting me i think its a newb mistake 5seconds go by no isk sent however i know it takes a bit when your nervous and 5 seconds isnt long but when tanking sentrys its forever/. Then he jams me and 2 more ravens warp in, i tell my friend whos in the next system tyring to get there to help kill / or ransom (operated his name) hes jamming me hurry get here. Operated jumps in and im able to relock i open fire before he can warp out and scram him Op fire a volley of Artillery while im pounding boom lucky op gets final kill hehe. Anyways the other 2 ravens where scared of us i guess not in same corp as the other raven guy which we didnt know and they fly off me and op collect the loot and safe spot. The guys yells in local we blew him up after he paid. I go Dude you jammed me and keep shooting and tryed to kill me after you paid so i finished you off when your jammers didnt get a lucky rep on me. I tell him go to my Forums and ill send you 30 of the 40mill back because you messed up everyone who has common sense knows you dont try and double cross someone your paying a random to. So he goes to my forums not follying my instructions he doesnt list anything importent and puts hes honorable not mentioning everything i specified he had to in my random evemail. So he comes back to eve and goes its done i check its all wrong.
I go okay Read my evemail take 1 min to fix it and Apologize for using 2 stabs and ill send u 10mill now and the other 20 when your done. I send him the 10mill and he goes blah blah F you, your and unhonorable pilot i wont take 1min of forums to get my other 20mill back. So i go okay screw you thanks for your t2 raven loot. and me and operated leave.

As soon as it looks likes someone is screwing you about, or stalling you should just nuke them.

lol that is hilarious.
Some people have no respect at all, for anything.
It's a shame though, you tried to help him out a bit, and he still spat in your face. Some people just can't be helped.
Nice kill though.

This guy is the reason why many people, including myself have only been asked a ransom after the ship is popped.

Personally, if he paid, i'd unscramble and tell him to get out. If he didn't, and kept firing, he'd be toast. If he gave you ISK but refused to dis-engage, he deserved to lose the ship and the ISK. I would have given him time to leave though (unless my ship was in danger). If other circumstances (beyond either of your controls) lead to you destroying him post-paying, I'd refund the ISK if he was polite and not an *******.

i hate it when people take to long to pay...or just dont pay
but that is just stupid.. he knew you could kill him and carried on trying to kill you after he paid ransom!! should have ransomed him again lol

Okay, so I was flying around and I saw a Raven. I'm pretty sure I can take him in a fight, even though the odds are stacked against me (Sentries and his t2 fitted Raven against me). I follow him into the next system, and am delighted to see when he uncloaks that I am within warp scrambler range! I lock onto his ship and fire, instantly melting his shields (insert appropriate "BAM!" sound here). I assume this is because he didn't have time to or forgot to turn on his shield hardeners. I open a conversation with ym target when his ship gets into the lower end of his structure hp, and ask him for 40 million ISK or I will continue to destroy his ship. He replies positively, saying that he will pay.
I deactivate my weapons, yet he continues to fire on me. I pass this off as an amateur mistake, and wait for the ransom. 5 seconds pass by and still no ISK has appeared in my wallet. I understand that it can take a while to get something done when you're nervous - but I can't hang around all day as the sentry guns are still shooting me. 5 seconds can seem like forever!
My target now jams me, breaking my target lock, and 2 more Ravens warp in. I ask my friend "Operated" (who is in the next system and on his way to help me) to hurry up. Operated jumps in and at that moment the jam fails. I am once again able to lock the Raven and before he has time to warp out my friend unleashes a volley of artillery fire while I pound him with my weapons. The ship explodes and Operated gets the final blow and kill mail! The other 2 Ravens seemingly had no association with the now shipless target and leave the scene. Operated and myself collect the loot from the ship and warp away to a safe spot.
The guy we have just killed now states in local that we blew his ship after he had paid our ransom! I reply - letting everyone know (and reminding the individual) that he jammed me and attempted to destroy my ship after he had paid, so I finished him off when his jammers failed a cycle. I instruct the guy to go to my forums and then I will send him 30 million back of the 40, as he messed up. Surely everyone who has common sense knows that you don't try to double-cross someone who is ransoming you?!
He goes to my forums and (despite my specific instructions sent to him by eve-mail) does not list any important details about the incident and attempts to state that he was honourable. He returns to EVE and tells me that he has done as I asked. I check this and find everything is not as it should have been, or as I asked. I instruct the guy to read the eve-mail I sent, and allow him a minute to correct his forum post. Amusingly I also ask him to apologise for using 2 Warp Core Stabilisers! I tell him I will send him 10 million ISK now, and the other 20 when he has completed the forum post corrections. He responds to this rather abusively and refuses to correct his post on my forums.
To this I simply respond: "Ok, screw you! Thanks for your T2 Raven loot". Operated and myself then leave the system.

Depending on the situation/location, give them a time limit. If you're tanking sentries, give him 15 seconds (and watch your wallet to make sure it's the right amount) after 15 seconds, pop. If I'm in a lonely belt, I give them 30 tops provided they don't have any corpmates in system. If they have corpmates in system I won't bother, since they're usually aligning to warp to us as we're fighting.

While ransoming IF under heavy fire/alot of traffic in local - pop, grab cash and make a stash The guy deserved it
