giomanach, your so wrong about the lack of content. I doubt you even touched on the player interaction in Eve which provides open ended content.
This thread should be named - 'A losers farewell to Eve'. It's insulting to carebears.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Actually I am having plenty of fun accumulating the neccessary wealth for ever better toys. It is just that it requires a lot more thought and caution in EVE to acquire them in a timely manner and then keep them than in those other games.
And whenever the moneymaking does get too boring, I can go and do something else without much of a hassle.
EVE is just rather unforgiving of mistakes, and that is just as true for carebears as for PvPers. And the OP definitely made a LOT of mistakes. But this process seperats the chaff from the wheat, and that is good. EVE is a game benefitting the wheat ;)
And that is one big reason why I like it so much.

Originally by: giomanach Having played SWG until CU when they spoiled it and WOW 2 lvl 60s then got bored and Guild Wars I have been around MMORG for a while, and I liked the concept of this game, in reality it lacks content, no game play as such unless you get your kicks from spoiling everybody elses gameplay and like they say if you dont like it then get out the game, well I pay my money to play a GAME as entertainment so that what I'm doing.
Think you are playing this game wrongly. EvE isnt about making ISKs and PvE. It is about making people lose ISKs when you kill them. The fun comes from hunting targets like some hunted animals running from bloodthirsty bloodhounds. Catching them, tearing them up and *****ing their pods to maximise ISKs damage. TBH, the enjoyment comes from destroying hostile targets and loot their stuffs so their egos and emotions can sink into a blackhole.
To enjoy EvE, you have to enjoy doing the killing and getting killed though. Please come back, we all are one happy killing family. ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

Quote: The only thing I can say about this game is it probably keeps the muggers, murderers and thieves off our streets for real so I suppose its a small price to pay for that
lol...just because EVE is brutal it does not mean all criminals play it. TDG for example has 1 policeman, 1 lawyer, 1 nurse, 3 IT-supporters, 5 students and so on. So people that are nice and good in RL tend to be evil and brutal in games. That¦s for what games are made for: PLAY something!

Edited by: Glengrant on 09/06/2006 13:27:49 Edited by: Glengrant on 09/06/2006 13:27:24 About the lack of content - that's really not true. You just haven't found it. If you expect it labeled, packaged and delivered then Eve is the wrong game for you. Content is player created and there is a lot of it.
Most of all - from your description of things it sounds like you always worked by your lonely self. This is a MMOG - emphasis on "Massive" and "Multi". I can see how the game ain't much fun without an active corp around you. Having a network of friends also helps with recovierung from expensive losses.
And with premium insurance you are quickly back in Raven or whatever else you want. And you don't need to have it immediately fitted with T2 goodies to have fun and success. T1 stuff is mostly cheap and almost always good enough. The time you need T2 the most is in pvp (you have to keep up what the others are using) - and it sounds you weren't after that anyway. For rat hunting and missions it's mostly a luxury.
