Any hints? Let's say we've got a BP which requires the following minerals (example): 10000 tritanium 1000 pyerite 100 nocxium 10 megacyte
On a unresearched blueprint, the waste factor is 0.1. Does that mean that the BP will use 10000+1000 tritanium, 1000+100 pyerite and so on? (My BPs are researched, just out of interest)
I am aware that the mineral requirements are also displayed like if you've got PE 5. Right now I'm at PE0, how do I calculate exactly what I need? Trit*1.25? (Trit+Trit_waste)*1.25? And, what about if I train PE 3? Thanks in advance
PS. I have yet to find a BP calc where all the BPs I need are listed - so please don't point me to crimsonautograph's at least.

Edited by: Muaddid on 25/09/2003 17:42:43 real cost = round down(([ BP requires ] * 1,25 * (1-(0,04*[ PE lvl ]))
the "waste" part is already included in the first number, its just to show you how much u waste if you dont research it :P
On vacations (need a new sig too) |

Edit: Yep, sure works! Not a single unit wrong.

Just one thing thought. The calculation mentions Prod Efficiency which as we know is 4% / level. What is does not mention is the industry skill.
Does this formula presume that you have level 5 industry or does it not take into account industry at all.
Is there a formula to take into account PE and industrial?
Thanks C11vos

My mistake, I thought it did. Thats the problem with posting from work where I can't check my facts before posting.
I'm also going to edit my previous post to make me look less of a mong

I got PE4 and Industry 3 right now. The way I approximate is to take the total mineral required + waste and add a little on top and I get something close to what's actually required.
The only accurate way to do it is start a run, click the bill of materials tab and write down the minerals used.

Easy way to figure your actual needs if you're looking at a BP, is to add 5% for every level your Production Efficiency is below 5.
For the long explanation, check out: Manufacturing and Research Guide -D
Proposal for Overhauling Manufacturing. |
