There are no Black Ops or covert Ops for that matter. It's another ship in local only with a cloak. It's pretty hard to be covert or clandestine when everyone knows you are there.
Repurpose Black Ops to something usefull. |

give them ability to use strip miners. and gas harvester and ice harvester ..
and bonus to yield. And better cargohold.. at least for two cubes.. |

Putting a Covert Ops cloak wouldn't OP them. They still wouldn't have any tank, still wouldn't have as much dps as thier T1 versions, still wouldn't be able to lock anything smaller than a battleship before it warped out, still couldn't beat a battleship for already given reasons. A cloak would only allow them to survive and only if they didn't decloak.
Still, left up to me I'd rather see a serviceable bridge range. The covert Ops can act as its covert cloak. The point of a black ops is, it never sees a gate. Longer jump and bridge range would allow for that.
Oh and you shouldn't be able to scan them down in under 2 minutes without a ship rigged to do so. Stealth Technology is designed to circumvent traditional radars. |
