Amarr Frigate 3 Amarr Indy 1 Battlecruisers 1 Desroyers 1 Gallente Cruiser 3 (training to four--1 day left) Gallente Frigate 4 Gallente Indy 2 Mining Barge 3 Spaceship Command 4
My own observations... I know I have split SP in amarr and gallente ships. Hybrid and Laser turrets. I'm having difficulty choosing which to stick with. I like Gallente ships... but I prefer laser weapons. And the two dont mix well in that Gallente ships has bonuses for hybrids.
I think maybe I spent too much in mining skills... so far mining has not paid off for me. Ratting in low sector pays more by far. Even lvl 2 missions keep pace and sometimes outperform mining.

I think by looking at that his skill list current goals are to make isk through mining and npc'ing and future goal probably to pvp.
In which case if your flying gallente ships train drone skills hardcore trust me it really will pay off theres so many variaties of drone now. Getting Drone interfacing 4 and eventually 5 will sort you out very nicely your also want to train up your mechanic/repair skills to level 4 dont worry to much on your gunnery skills until you trained up what i mentioned and your engineering/cap/electronic skills..
Id hold off your industry skills as you have them at a good level and a retriever barge will be mining more than any cruiser or bs (unless its an apoc).
If you want fast money go 0o because empire mining brings in an incredibly low income its not funny how ever once you can afford a dominix your just breeze through missions making probably 7-10 mil per hour (gestimate).

Thanks Gabby.
I think you pretty much figured out my playstyle. Im a bit of a jack of all trades. But mostly I ratt and do missions. I tried mining but not doing so well... I guess I have to move out to 0.0 sometime soon.
First though I'll get into my Brutix and try to get doing missions for ISK.
I am wondering about drones.... I like them and see the immediate benefit of more drone skills... but I'm wondering if training support drones would be better or offensive drones. ie: If I build an armor tank brutix and set it up as a gun boat... then carry a bunch or armor rep drones... well that seems quite ideal to me. All them drones repping my armor and me not losing any CAP for it. Does anyone do that ?

There's no huge rush to make a decision between Amarr and Gallente ships. Both use predominantly armour tanking setups so the skillsets are very comparable. Once you start committing to Tech II ships and weapons your choices involve considerably more training time.

Diemex train combat drones, the support drones only support what ever you can target and as far as i know you cant target your own ship

Would just like to say gameplay wise, not really dependent of sp, I think you otta try pvp combat. Even if youre not comfortable yet, in the near future. This game is sooooooo much more fun than npc'ing.

Edited by: Raider Zero on 13/06/2006 16:14:43 You'll want to get energy systems management soon, since it will lessen the need for cap rechargers, etc. both in mining and in battle.
I'd also finish up the learning asap, since you'll only benefit from them in the long run and you have decent earning potential right now to mine for a while while they train up.
Also, a missing but very important skill is Drone Interfacing. That gives 20% per level to whatever you're using drones for be it damage or mining. I mining drone pulling in 20 units per minute is meh, but 5 mining drones pulling in 36 per minute is a good boost.
Since you're either flying Gallente or Amarr, the armor tanking skills such as mechanic and repair systems will need to come up before you get to high level missions or pvp, but everything takes time so if you're content mining for now while you finish learning and some support skills the battlefield will always be there. Plus if you're mining now, you'll be able to safely save up money for a nice setup to run missions/npc in.
edit: Running L2 missions should not really keep up with mining in a barge. Doing just scordite, you should be able to pull in at least 2 million per hour with your skills and a retriever-probably more if you have a corp mate or buddy with perfect refining skills. You could also look around for .5-.7 systems with good ores in them. They're there if you look hard enough.
