No at the presentation they were talking about "thousads" of possible modifications, I remember it well, not the few T3s we have.

4 T3 hulls, with 5 subsystem slots each, about 3(?) choices of subsystem for each slot, so 972 variants. Close I guess :)
Edit @Abrazzar: That's without fitting and rigs, of course |

i would love to see more t3 ships, i like how they work. perhaps a pirate faction t3, which spans all the factions, for each slot you could choose a sub from one of the pirate factions, allowing you to mix and match your favourite bits from all the factions (if you have the racial skills that is) it would make things really interesting, and you could make a story around the creation.
for example; the pirates form a loose truce to combat the growing threat of Nation, who are targeting them as much as the empires, the pirates steal the t3 tech from the empires and use it to create a new ship that they can all use, which fits all of their ethos's on ship design, to battle the Nation, and anyone else that targets them. |

...except T3s haven't hit the big rebalance yet, and "viable" is not a prerequisite for "possible combination".

Ive flown T3s for a LOOOOOONG time, and there's actually quite a limited combination of modifications really, no the fanfest presentation was basically saying ALL ship hulls can be customised.
When I fly my Tengu, I have never yet thought; hmmmm, Ive actually built this ship and it looks cool and does the specific task I want it to. Hence the SPace Engineers comparison. Evelopedia;-á

Even T3s are highly limited in viable fits, which is why I seem to always encounter Loki or Proteus that are fit almost exactly the same way. Can't wait til Fozzie fucks it up so that they are even more limited. |

I have never seen 4096 (or 1024 or whatever) Tengu combinations
They basically look identical....or at least very similar, especially the combat pvp configs, which are extremely limited. Evelopedia;-á

They way these 'rebalance' passes are going they might as well remove modules altogether because ships are usually put together with a specific 'right fit' with some exceptions ie. choice of ewar. |

Yes? 4096 bit = 500 mb(yte) iirc? Obviously your computer has more RAM than 500mb?
Eve needs 2GB ram as min requirement so you really should have more than that... Hope restored. |
