As you can tell from my grey hair I am a bit of an old dude...
In fact since starting my career as a pilot I have successfully avoid being podded and have therefore never been cloned... As a result I am starting to fall apart a bit
Anyway, I was just wondering how many others of you out there (who have played from the early days) have managed through either skill or complete cowardice to succeed in being 'original'. In other words how many of you have never had to activate a clone?

I've never been podded by anyone else but I have clone-hopped a few times.
Not anymore though: implants have put a stop to that.

I was up until about a week ago, then I lost myself in 4c to Evo. Now I will never have a A+ clone that costs 16k isk again.

Never been podded or lost a ship. Been very damn near close to loosing a ship, but the old structure bug saved my ship a couple times .
That is one of the things that suck about pvp in EvE. You really only die or loose a ship due to two reasons:
1. Stupidity 2. Lag/ctd/bug
With the way pvp works, there is almost no way to get truly out-smarted and destroyed by an enemy imo.

As a retired professional pirate (this sounds good!) I used to out-smart people by:
- Attacking them with a half-damaged Blackbird in 1 vs 2 odds, - shooting back after being half-damaged, - making them believe someone or me is their ally and making them attacking me with the someone or my friend with them.
This was a lot of braggging but I have seen some people like CoC out-smarting even SI by countering our setups and using deadly tactics.
Deception and understimation did work in EVE, but then TomB came along and nerfed a lot like a little child making solo PvP obosolote.
Even in DAoC one fricking char can defeat a keep against a few agressors on the same level if he is skilled. Solo PvP in EVE = dead.
But you are right in your point anyway. I have lost one Blackbird in a fair straight PvP fight and dozens ships and pods due to bugs, lag and CTDs.

I've never seen a pod, but I only just passed 1M SP so I haven't really been around long enough to test my luck too much.

Up until a few days ago I was original, I thought that was pretty good going since I'd been playing since about week 2 and spent most of that time as an evil pod-killing pirate. So kudos to the old fart that took my originality and my bounty. Who knows, maybe my new clone will get the hint and go legit.

I've been cloned once, 2 days before advanced clones came in Cost me a day of training or so. But i'm still quite experienced with 4 mil+ skill points i think.

Many times, for clone jumping. Dont tell me you havent done it? Everybody does it! They just lie about it. Im the most common corpse in EVE
Its the best solution for the carebears anyway. If you do this 3 times a day non stop for a week then you eventually get used to it and you dont have podding fears..

Never been killed or clone jumped here. Still have my 16K a+ clone.
I have lost two ships. A punisher, to Tank CEO in a Moa and a bestower to Bargler in a armageddon. Both were kind enough not to pop my pod though.

SI I could never get me, I evaded them plenty of times. Slipped through some m0o blockades as well. Guess I can retire from EVE as a pilot who was never podkilled...
