After Kronos chnages to exploration sites I've noticed that prices for Relic sites loot like Capacitor Consoles did not go up for some reason and the loot amount is down by 80%. My question is what is your experience with relic sites - are the less proftable for you ? ANd the second question is why prices didnt go up after reducing amount of loot ? |

Prices may take some time to adjust.
Also, the net effect of no loot spew + less loot is hard to predict.
Maybe CCP had solid stats to work on? In that case, prices could remain stable, but above-average minican grabbers will make less money than before, while crappy minican grabbers will make more. |

With loot spew chating the most valuable containers was like 80% times. Also hacking Ruins wasn't that hard with propper ship + Archaelogy V. For me total income was like 150kk - 200kk for like 2h. Guess no it is no more of nice income, for flying solo in hostile environment. |

Did a half hour of hacking the other night, got 89 million in drops. Luck is a factor, but there's still isk to be made. Personally I'm better off as before I would go straight for the T2 loot can and blow the rest up, rather than go through the torturous spew 6 times. Now I'm doing all the borderline cans to get the tripped power circuits and interfaces etc. and blowing up only 1 or 2 in each site. |

Relic site values are unlikely to change much as the salvage can still be got from salvaging ships and NPC's, the data site prices are more likely to change though eventually as supply is reduced with demand not going down |

You've got the point. I was rushing relic ruins for best loot and blowing the rest. Now top tier containers are mostly empty in terms of value, now I'm also doing lesser tier containers. |

I don't have any numbers, but as an example say you have 1,000 active d/r explorers (once a day), 1,000 casual explorers (once a week) and 1,000 ex-explorers that hated the loot spew.
Pre-Kronos, an average of 1,140 explorers per day.
If the casuals go from once to twice a week, and the ex- become once-a week-casuals, you'd have 1,430 explorers per day.
A +25% increase.
These figures are totally made up, but keep in mind that data/relic exploration has a very low entry barrier (ISK and SP). It's entirely possible we'll have several more explorers running around, especially in the first few weeks of Kronos. |

It's nothing like it used to be when rats were in the sites. Removing the rats has made it much more simple, making it so a lot more people are doing it.
And removing the loot spew, even though I love it's gone, is making it easier for people to get the juicy items, which in turn floods the market, driving the prices down. Lots of times I have come across sites where people just get the good stuff from scanning the containers and left the rest.
I did exploration for a couple days after Kronos, hoping it would be more profitable than it is now. Out of like 10 hours, managed like 50 million isk in goods, and that's even with 0.0 exploration thrown in. Stopped exploring again. Maybe more people will too if they find it bland, and prices will make it worthwhile to explore again.

The best thing is to do exploration as a whole and supplement combat sites with hacking sites. With the mobile depot it's easy to refit analysers as and when needed. |

Ran a relic site in a C2 WH the other day with a couple of corpmates
Relic loot = 400k Sleeper crap = less than 8 million.
Ran a combat site in a C1 with the same corp mates 21 mill in Sleeper crap.
Either the RNG fairy hated us, or the D/R sites are utter turd. I suppose it helped we got 5 melted nanoribbons on the Salv in the C1.
Admittedly I got over a million in loot in data sites in high sec after about 25 minutes. |

I lived in a C2 for 9 months. Occasionally I would score 20mil from a Data site, but most of the time it was junk. Running the combat sites themselves in the c2 wasn't all that great either in terms of sleeper loot. We made better isk farming the C1 and we could do it in ships that were cheaper.
I used to wonder why CCP allowed the risk/reward to be so out of wack. But lately I'm beginning to believe that just like the real world, there are some opportunities worth persuing and some that aren't. My exploration drop rates have been considerably down since Kronos to the point where I've stopped bothering. It was supposed to be a 30% nerf, and it definitely went farther than that. I'm not sure even 30% was justified. |

I'm finding that I'm actually getting more in PI than I am exploring in null.
I used to be able to regularly bring in about 40m (50m on a good night) on one of my usual circuits, I'm now averaging 6-8m
It is strongly in the 'why bother' category for now. |

A trip through null would normally give me about 50-100M on a regular trip, 30-40 on a bad trip and 100-200 on a good one. Now the amounts have gone down considerably.
I guess being one of the people who know how to get each and every 'good' can isn't helping much.
Though since the spew is gone, doing data sites has now somewhat become worth it again, which is good I suppose.
Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

I joined EVE along time ago. I remember a corp mate inviting us to a grav site he found. I wanted to know how he found it. He called it exploration. I was hooked.
I researched what it would take to be an explorer and build a skill plant to do it. It was hard and took a long time to not only train the skills to achieve success but to also learn the techniques of which probes to use and how to manipulate them to find the sites.
It really was a niche profession because it was time consuming and hard. The reward? Sometimes crap (relative) and on a rare occasion something really good. Regardless you made some isk; at least from the rats you killed.
I understand why that all changed with Odyssey BUT to accommodate those that choose to make exploration a profession they forgot to add something important to the lowered entry level: A class of exploration site(s) that is DIFFICULT to find and a loot table expansion to support it.
I can live with sites that are so easy I now use an interceptor to explore null sec without the scanning modules and only one probe strength rig. I can live with the hacking exercise only because I thought it would be applied to other player owned structures a careful explorer can hack into and steal from. I hated the loot spew for all the usual reasons and I am glad it is gone. I can even live with the rat removal although now with the introduction of mobile depots I think rats need to be reintroduced. What I find the most disappointing about the entire exploration revamp is that it does not accommodate those of us that want good skills and want difficulty and want depth of play.
Please, with the new six week expansion cycle, build on the current exploration base. Introduce rats to sites on a random basis. Expand hacking to other areas of the game: Start with offline POSes. Introduce a new class of exploration site that demands experience and high skill levels. Triple (or more) the loot tables in size and scope.
Maybe these ideas will help relief some of the pressure on the markets with the current exploration model but until then I guess we will all need to continue cherry picking. |

I was making between 200 - and 500 million ISK per run (over the course of a few days in null-sec). Now, I can't breach 100 million in the same time.
Exploration really sucks, now. And unfortunately, it is all I have skills to do :( |
