Traeon	Posted - 2006.06.12 11:00:00 - [1] I've trained gallente for piracy so far.. Vexor, Thorax, Domi, the AF's are great... But i'm reluctant to really specialize into them, since i find myself eyeing the minmatar ships more and more lately - speed, good damage, versatility, semi nos proof.. did i mention speed? Oh and the instagank potential of artillery is sweet as well. So, is it worth switching over? Can anyone tell me how big the damage difference is between blasters and autocannons, or rather how it works out to be in actual combat? Or is this just a classical case of the grass is always greener on the other side

Rifter would probably be better than the incursus, rupture stands a good chance against a thorax. Dominix is like a solo pwn mobile probably would be able beat most bs's but tempest has a nice mid slot lay out and typhoon will be getting a nice missile rof bonus which might even exceed tempests dps. Just have to train alot more skills than you would gallente to be any good in it. If your into bs's your have to train bs 5 to get tempests full potential but as you got gallente skilled you could just buy a mach and take advantage of the 25% rof bonus you get at the first level.

Tempest may be fine, but it has more problems with Cruisers and smaller ships. Blasters arent that great for pirating, they dont disable your opponent. I don't have the as much Gallente experience as Traeon, all I can say is I find my Brutix very disappointing. Are Minmater any good below battleship level? Our battleships are I Win buttons for PvE but with the missile rof bonus the phoon should really shine. The thing is traing time, i`m assuming you guys already have decent drone skills. So you don't have to cover that. But yeah, as said above, you need maxed gunnery and starship command skills to get awesome dps. the best thing to do would be jump in a rifter and see how you like it. If your impressed move on up the tree. I personally ♥♥♥♥ my Minnie trashcans. After much thought I have decided to stick to minnie - I will be in a HAC, Recon, T2 fitted BS much sooner and I would rather be flying these in 3 months than just reaching a T2 fitted thorax / vexor and poorly fitted mega - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast - - - - - - - - - - - -
