I think CCP should reinstall the first version of the game so that everyone can see just how far the game has really progressed. Nothing wrong with taking a week or two to remember the good ol days. :) |

They could set up one of the old servers gathering dust in the basement and people could log on to it the same way they do Singularity.
+1000 since I never got to experience the good old days, and love older games. Just the idea of being able to see the before and after contrast has me giggling.

I'd like to play EvE pre-Trinity again. Even though the old textures were much lower res, I actually liked their style better. Everything is too clean now, and too much greeble.
If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request. |

I'd say the last patch before the first expansion, that way we get the most stable version of the original game, in all it's unbalanced, half-baked crazy glory.
Edit: In retrospect this may be a bad idea. I doubt the original client behaves well in windows 7/8.1 and devoting serious dev time to a nostalgia trip just isn't reasonable. I'll amend my suggestion to the first client that runs reliably on modern OS's.

I think it would be awesome if CCP either hosted or allowed someone else to host a seperate server running the old game. If it was free to access, it might even be an interesting way to expose potential new players to the game. Sort of like how Minecraft and KSP both turned their original version into their free demo.
