are raptors just a poor mans crow or are they actualy good for somthing?
if they are dose anyone have a good setup even if it just a throw-away tackler.. or is there an uber detup that makes this ship good? what i have noticed is that they lack in the PG area.. will a mapc solve this and u have a "crow" with 2 low slots ???

Try this as a cheap (ie. not quite disposable) tackler.
High 2x Ion Blaster II's (with Null) 2x Rocket Launcher II's
Mid MWD II webber warp scrambler
low Damage Control CPR MAPC
with the null ammo and the raptors 50% bonus I get about 4Km optimal and 3Km falloff with the blasters.
On the other hand, if you use Void ammo and get really close you will do considerably more DPS than a crow.
swap the WMD II for a tech I to save around 6.5 mill if you want a really cheap tackler inty. ---------------------------------------------------

raptor seems a bit worse than crow, but:
better sensor strength (to counter ECM even it's worth almost nothing) more armour - it tanks armour better than shield... some people say armortanking is better hehe If they are right it makes the raptor more survivable for tackling A bit less signature radius for a bit better survivabilty Better scan resolution - faster lock!!
Guess it's a fine tackler - try:
guns and nos - or whatever fits after low and med slots Mwd/AB, Webifier, Scrambler - perhaps 2 scramblers if you are tackling slow ships armour repairer and plates/hardeners
I guess it only hurts half as much to lose a raptor than a crow...

Raptor got hit with a nerf stick when made, for no apparent reason. Clickeh the linkeh to see what I've said before.

Warping at 13.5 au/s is bloody fast and therefore doesnt take much cap, if you need to warp twice in a system with a raptor even with mwd fitted you would hav had to warp 2 or more times in any other ship. Although all that goes striat out the window if your in a system ganged with a BS, as you will warp at 3 au/s and suddendly warping just 50 au munches up your cap, and takes ages to get there... witch is nice

Because he couldn't afford it is the only reason my corp mate didn't buy a crow.

The raptor can be setup to insta lock ceptors and frigates as they jump through a gate. That is about all it has going for it
