Edited by: DarknessInc on 17/06/2006 18:38:31 Okay!
I just was shown the largest, saddest example of a griefer ever IN KISOGO, by the name of Project 86 a Hub Starter System.
Sad thing is, he's in a corporation that is set up to ASSIST newbies, not gank them for fun.
So he drops a can out by the station, seeing the bait, I engage him and take the can. He opens up with Missiles and NOS. I begin a cat and mouse game, leading him around. Docking and undocking.
Soon, I get tired of games and fit 2x Gravimetric Jammers upon my ship, undock and face him head to head. He's jammed, shields at 50% and unjammed (I couldnt fit a jammer)
Ive disengaged my jammers awhile ago, but he is all aligning to somewhere. I assum he's about to warp. And he does....into the middle of nowhere and has disappeared from local!!!
Mind you this is a Ferox Vs Vengeance and he assumed he was winning.
but. the entire point it. What is your view on these dumb**** griefers who log off at the sign of a target thats stronger than a rookie ship

No the entire point of this thread is your ****ed cause some griefer logged out of a fight and you want the rest of the forum to help you trash his name. At least be honest.

wow did you figure that all by yourself? Yes Im ****ed that this little newb griefer logged out after I began to win. But what is shocking more, is that he was able to Log off and warp out AFTER he had shot me, and wasnt restricted to the 15Minute combat aggro effect upon logging out

Mkay, lets review.
Your first post said that the entire point of the thread is to get an "opinion" on griefers.
My post indicated that you cared little for an opinion and more so wished to hear others join in on the smacktalk.
Then your reply is to attempt to belittle me by making it look obvious that this indeed was your intent.
My conclusion?
Whiner.

I can use a cloak. But I just dont have the ISK for one.
His CEO wont even punish him. Its pretty sad. People who yearn for PVP that much should go and stick around in low sec where they can get some expierence at killing things

YES! If he had warped anywhere else, I would have followed. But he had logged off.
And SHimpu. learn the real goddamn definition of noob before you go spouting it around like an idiot. Here it is for you:
Newb and noob may have somewhat different connotations. Newbs are simply newcomersłnoob and n00b, on the other hand, generally means someone who is obnoxious, annoying, or breaks the rules; whether they are actual newcomers or not is mostly irrelevant. Therefore, a noob may be someone who has been around for a long time but still engages in behavior that he or she should have learned is unacceptable. Noobs are generally confident in what they are doing, but in reality are annoying others. "Newb" is not necessarily an insulting word, but "noob" usually is. If someone makes an unintelligent comment on a forum or asks a question that even other newbies could answer then it is said that they are making a "noobish" comment or asking a "noobish" question. However, due to the evolution of language, the term noob or 'n00b' is now used both ways and newb is used only infrequently
"Noob" can also mean a person who claims to know a lot about a subject but in truth does not. It was first used in hacker groups on the BBS chat systems in the 1980s. It is important to note that noob and newb are not necessarily interchangeable. Many times the term noob or n00b will be used by veterans to degrade a user for their lack of knowledge, or claims to know more than they truly do.

I will admit whenever I got a new ship I would kill a few rookie ships. But I will also admit that I have sent 500K ISk afterwards for a new ship.
But recently, I place down cans labeled "Do not take or die" a form of baiting the thieves instead of the newbs thinking it is free stuff

People who sit around ganking newbies are most likely some of the worst players in EVE.
I'm sure they have no problems pointing at a killboard, but there's no fun in killing people who haven't even learned the basics yet.

You're no better than the guy that logged off. You think 500,000ISK will sort it out, for people who just started playing this game? You think money will sort it out?

tbh - a definition for "noob" in EVE noob: someone who doesn't fit a scrambler and then complains why his prey is warping off.
if your victim had stabs no problem with complaining about it.
but not even fitting a scrambler and complaining deserves imho this term.
fyi: afaik if someone is scrambled and logs off - he won't warp away (if he has no stabs) - only time a ship will *dissappear* is - when he logged off before he got aggressed or when he uses a certain exploit.

True, but the feeling of utter powerlessness when an older player pops their newb frigate for nothing more than giggles probably drives quite a few people away who would otherwise have stuck around and seen how the game really is.
But if that's your thing, go for it.

Ok I thought we sorted this out last night DarknessInc.
You are a can thief and deserve to be destroyed. Oh thats right you didn't mention that did you? The real reason for the OP whining is because Project 86, whom apparently logged (according to Project he didn't), destroyed the OP covetor.
Now as for the convo we had (Convo will not be posted as that practise is ghey) I do not take kindly to a prepubescent piece of flotsam cluttering up my chat window, slagging off my members and calling me scum.
You sir are a can thief and before you say that bollox about you being a "baiter" you stole from his can and paid the price by losing ya covertor.
As I said in our conversation, I hope this is a lesson to you in the future and you change your can stealing ways.

So the guys bored he sits in kisogo and waits for some newbie to come along so he can make an explosion, big feckin deal its game we play it to have fun at others expense.
The newb learns a lesson, he gets an almost identical rookie ship plus a unit of trit along with 5k insurance payout. Im not seeing a downside to this.
Why is it when we talk about newbs we talk about them as if their kids and not middle aged guys bored or playing this as some form of escapism from rl. Seriously i doubt any guy that loses a ship in the first day of playing is going to be that mad compared to someone thats played half a year and loses everything his worked for to a suicide gank.
OMG he logged, even if he didnt log do you think he was going to just sit their unscrambled just so you can permajam him til he pops. Its your fault you newbie next time think of a better setup on your ship that doesnt require several midslots dedicated to racial jammers.
This post is just a rant and rambles
Rules
All your provoking here is flamebait your asking people what they think of these "greifers" and then the "greifers" are going to post tellin you how stupid you are. You havent posted a solution or any ideas to solve it except rambling on about what you did.
