Question as topic.
Ok I know of course you need racial Titan skill and all the pre-requisites. But which other skills you need to fit the ship's modules and fly it properly? (large guns, clone vat, doomsday?)
Is racial titan lvl 1 good enough or do you need to train more to get the bonuses to fit everything in?
Are there any well known players in the game who are qualified to fly it?
Surely lots of players will be interested to know this as well? Flying a titan is a mysterious subject for most of us...

That's a seriously big target as far as training goes, but very high gunnery skills(doomsday device),engeneering(especially if it's a shield tanker)or mechanic skills(armour tanker),high navigation skills, drone skills and electronics and leadership skills...Basically pretty much every ship related skill out there to varying degrees...

Although I don't know exactly what skills you need, you will probably need to have pretty much every ship support skill there is. ;) Electronics, Engineering, Mechanic, Drones, Navigation, bunch of Science skills, Gunnery, Leadership and Missiles.

by the time you got the money and skills to get a titan its pretty much assured that you would have gotten most of those skills to level 5 already ( unless your a complete numpty)

There is an old saying about the price of an object that kinda applies here.
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
Same with Titans.
If you have to ask, you shoudlnt' fly it.
if you are far enough along in your EvE career to seriously think about Titan's, then you would know exactly what is needed. This isnt' meant ot be offensive, it's just that if you are skilled enough to start training Titan skills, then you would be experienced enough to look at the ship, it's requirements, and be able to tell what is needed.

Well,i'll tell you now that given that i'm almost a 3 year old char that's fast aproaching the 50 million skill point mark, which almost 90% of that total is dedicated to ship and support skills, that if i so wished, the actual skills to fly a titan decently would likely take less than 6 months to train if i had the inclination for that...
But training the skills, and flying the ship isn't the same thing, unless you're only training them to be one of the first pilots to fly one on the test server once your skill list is mirrored there...
On the TQ server however, there's the 65 billion cost of a BPO,the capital ship parts to build one would cost over 40 billion alone, which the construction itself can only happen in POS with a capital ship maintenance array and a capital shipyard array, wich takes a few billion to set up as well, and first and foremost, the POS itself can only be set up in a 0.0 region where your aliance has official control over it too...
Then add the 8 week construction time for a single one,the fact that once built,it can't dock anywhere or be insured, also having what is essentially a big bulleye painted on the ship 23/7/365 days a year, and like the previous poster says, you'd have to have some serious brass nuts to still want to fly one given those circumstances on TQ..

you don't need a war dec on a titan pilot since it can only be in 0.0
and to the OP: you basically need every ship-support skill to lvl5 to fly it well. Only things you don't need is the other gun's skills (and if caldari no guns after all).

To fly a Caldari Titan my main needs.... Capital Ships Level 4(10 days) Capital Ships Level 5(??? days maybe 62) Caldari Titan Level 1(45 mins)
That's it... oh apart from the 4.5 Billion to buy the Titan skill. I will find the money somewhere.. A bit of Dark Horse! |
