I just got podded in 0.0 - in the system I had 2 Jump Clones - my original was in Peni
I got bumped back to my original - I then tried to activate my other JC in 0.0 - but I was told
"[notify] None - Are you sure you want to proceed with the clone jump? The process of doing so will result in the destruction of the existing clone you have installed here (and it's implants!) given that your current body will replace it."
I then moved stations and then tried to activate the JC - this time it worked and I was at the station where my 2nd Jump clone was.
I noted my clone in empire was and alpha clone so I have to pay 2Misk to upgrade to cover my skill points.
I tried to then activate a 2nd JC in 0.0 (based on the fact that I had just lost one (I have skills for 2) - but told that I do not have the skills for more than 2 JC's - also I note that now both my JC's are in empire.
I am really really confused - what is happening?
Is it something that is so simple I am looking past it. But surely if my JC in 0.0 was podded - I would ecpect to be bumped back to my clone in empire - I could then jump bac to the 2nd clone in 0.0 - buy another JC and be sorted. Also if the JC is podded - why do I need to then re upgrade from and alpha clone - surely that is un affected as this was in empire and it was only the JC that was podded.
If someone could please explain I would really appreciate - as I am misisng something here.
Cheers

your post is slighlty confusing for me, jumpclones cant be destroyed per se, they just change locations, once you have 2 jumpclones you have them forever
also clone doesnt equal jumpclone (with original i assume you mean your cloning station, this is not a jumpclone)

is new to me not sure why and when this one gets triggered

You allready had a JC in that same station. After clonejumping you leave your current clone behind and start playing with the clone you jumped to. So after jumping you would have 2 JC's in that station which is not possible and so 1 will be destroyed.

Yup, you got PODded, so as usualy you have to buy a new medical clone (remember, a JC and a medical clone are both completely different and independent)

The clone you were in got killed and you were placed in your medical clone. Both Jumpclones you had before you got killed are unaffected and both still available. All that happened is your body you were in when you got POD-killed is transported to your medical clone.

What you're confused about is that you aren't looking at JC's as completely independent of medical clones. You can switch between jumpclones which will allways leave your current clone at the station you are jumping from and start playing with the clone you jumped to. So once you have 2 JC's you will allways keep 2 jumpclones. And so when you get killed all that happens is the body you are in is killed and transported to your medical clone - which will need an yupgrade because you were killed.
So as an example what happened to you :
Before you were killed (JC = jumpclone, MC = medicalclone, main = body you are currently flying) A - JC B - main C - MC + JC
After you got killed you were send to your MC.
A - JC C - JC + main
When you tried to jumpclone from this point you would be left with 2 JC's in station C which is not possible - hence the warning. So you flew to station D
A - JC C - JC D - main
Now you could jumpclone resulting in :
A - main C - JC D - JC
Notice you still haven't got a medical clone so you need to buy a new one, also not you now have a JC in the station where your MC was first which in your case is empire. But also because you still have 2 JC's you cannot buy a new one in station A.
A - main B - MC C - JC D - JC
So to get back to the starting situation you will have to clonejump to station D and fly it back to A. Or use the good old fashioned POD-jump -> set MC to station A, jump to JC in D and kill yourself
MC set to station A
A - MC + main C - JC D - JC
JC to D
A - MC + JC C - JC D - main
POD-kill yourself
A - JC + main C - JC
And buy a new MC
A - JC + main C - MC + JC
Beware though, your main is now in the same station as one of your JC's, so clonejumping from ths station will result in the warning you got earlier, so you better fly to another station before clonejumping.
