minor issues here - nothing about which to write home.
Specs: P4 3.2GHz 512MB dual channel 40GB sata geforce ti4600.
Also ran just about perfect with my other machine: P4 1.6GHz 512MB, 120GB raid0 hardware ata100 geforce ti4600
every once in a while (twice, three times a week) I'll ctd, but I can log back in immediately.
This isn't to say that I haven't had issues - I have. They just haven't been as nasty as some I've seen on these forums. My biggest issues are irrational programming - getting stuck _on_ a roid when I'm 100M from it?! Lost a rifter that way... =============== Killboard: http://www.celeskills.com

No problems, really. The occasional CTD on my laptop, but no one should expect to be able to run two clients on this and never time out or crash, hehe
Lappy: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.2ghz) 1 GB RAM 64mb NVIDIA Geforce GO 440 WinXP Home
Often running two instances of EVE, as well as Trillian, Thunderbird, WMP with some music... oh, and it was over wireless
Just finished building a new desktop, and it's significantly better... but hey, what do you expect? Again, no real problems.
ASUS M2N-SLI mobo with AMD Athlon 64 3200+ AM2 1 GB RAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) 3 GB pagefile on a separate partition eVGA Geforce 7600GS 256mb WinXP Pro Running Trillian, etc. in the background still. Two clients, nice and fast.

Eve doesn't crash for me. However since this last patch my entire system slows way down whenever I load up Eve.
Everything on my computer slows down, so I know it's not connection lag. It's something going on with the client. If it was connection lag Eve would be slow and the rest of my machine would be fine.

Edited by: Emperor D''Hoffryn on 12/09/2006 18:22:46 Ive played EVE on two IBM thinkpad laptops
first:
Pentium M 1.6 Ghz 1 gig ram mobility radeon 7500 w/ 32mb video ram
second: Pentium M 2 Ghz 2 gig ram mobilty radeon 9500 w. 128 mb video ram
Eve has never crashed on me in 1.5 years of gameplay. I get occasional disconnect, but its always obvious the cause (ie, my internet connection reset, or I go to logon again, and server count has dropped by half)
My only observation is EVE doesnt seem to scale well with faster machines, and after dragon there is an occasional stutter.
PS oh yea, btw, I love necro threads.

Dude, hardly any replies. Draw you own conclusions...
How many people with no problems come to Known Issues and Workarounds? lol
Mine works great, but I'm too lazy to c/p my specs again. The bottom line is that some people have issues and would rather blame the client than their system and/or ISP.
I still find it funny when one of my corpmates starts swearing at EVE and DCs when another 10-20 people in corpchat are having absolutely no problem in the same system.

No problems at all. 100% playability. Never once gotten lag.
AMD X2 3800+ Biostar TForce 4 SLI Sapphire X800GTO (unlocked and overclocked to an X850XT) (ATI Catalyst 4.6) 2 gigs of OCZ DDR-400 RAM (2-2-2-5 timings) Onboard Sound (AC97) XP Pro w/ SP2 Leadtek WinFast XP2000 TV Tuner (I watch TV on my second monitor) A crapload of programs in the background (BitComent, Trillian, XFire, Avast Antivirus, Opera, and more)
Currently on Verizon FIOS as a service provider (40 MBps down, 5 MBps up) ======== I may have flabby thighs, but luckily, my stomach covers them. |
