The "i" series of LAN gatherings run by Multiplay are some of the biggest in the UK with 1000+ people bringing their own PC's along a regular occurance. I was in the one in April this year with a couple of my corp mates and whilst we did have a Eve presence it wasn't exactly huge. Resolving to make a difference and thanks to the CCP & Multiplay staff this is going to be the case.
At the event that is being held in August from the 25th - 28th we are going to be handing out trial code card to anybody who wants one and shall be setting up a mini Eve display on the 3rd floor (pending final seat allocation) with posters, T-Shirts, the game in question running on our machine of course and also a projector with the latest Eve trailers running.
Also CCP has graciously donated a signed Eve poster which will be going into the Event raffle.

If you do fancy attending, get your booking in just now. It is ú75 for the whole 4 days and spots went very quickly last time round and this time looks to be no exception. Also if you just fancy paying us geeks a visit it is ú5 on the day for a pass. you can look us up on the 3rd floor if you fancy a natter.

Yeah I should be along once I have my attendance paid. I've got something that may add to the Eve Shrine (I mean display/expo) going on.
I'm down for early arrival (Thursday night) and Gil has made me aware that something is being arrange. More SoonÖ

Idea ... combined HUMID/EUR raid on a Newbury pub to meet local Eve players not attending i28?
I mean we have the whole weekend there so what's a few hours out of it to meet some new faces who aren't attending?

FFS, I have been to the last 4 summer Lan's. But this year my mates being the lazy ****s couldnt be arsed to go. And other mate who wanted to go was on holiday with gf that weekend.
The year I dont go and we have a Eve mini display. GRRRRR

I am also at I28 but haven't had time to come over to you guys, will hopefully come over today (when i get up  ) i am up on the 2nd floor main building with the rest of my Call of Duty Clan.
Been a really good event so far and i believe these events are only going to get bigger

Yeah I've been meaning to go to an i-series event for a number of years now. Was good fun.
Good to meet up with Laird, Gilgamoth and others. Also managed to sway a few people into Eve, kind of along the lines of:
"ohhhh what's that, pretty"
"here try it, 14 day trial time card"
Also a number of other people were like "oh must reactivate my account" once they found out CCP didn't tend to delete characters like other MMORPGs, another point in the favour of Eve for returning fans.
Not sure if I can make i29 ... arranged frigate/cruiser/BS duels for i30?!

i will come foward and admit that i was one of the converted at i28 by Dante Chusuk himself, and if it wasnt for his help in the start (along with the other EUR clan there) i probably would have given up by now.

Okay.. so i went to this i28 thing from ALL the way over from teh states. But god damn it my friendship with Dante is solid, and well he was letting me stay at his place so it was all good.
Met the guys there... Laird and gilgamoth and EZ Target. Great group of Guys.
and yes... yoyoyostella has come over to the dark side. MWAHAHAHAHHAHA
Crazy american at a UK lanfest....
What else will i do next? HMMMMMM

Oh god yo.yo.yo.stella and the rest of the yo.yo.yo guild wars guild, they should be converted to EvE-online soon-ish....
I've got some nice pics from the event, including a couple of Dante helping the yo.yo.yo guys get orientated in EvE ;) - these pics will never see the light of day as long as I recieve the monthly payment that was organised @ i28....
