I've been thinking that it could be useful to have an easy to fly, large cargo ship (somewhere around 20,000m3-40,000m3) that could only be used for in-system transport. It could be designed such that it cannot use jump gates, but would be great for hauling large amounts of stuff between staions or from belts to stations.

Macroers would use it for super belt stripping.

They'd have to have one for eveyr system they mined in if it can't use jump gates.

just because macros would use it doesnt mean the idea should be dismissed. i hate that ****, oh noes a macro might be able to use this time to scrap an idea.

whats the point in a ship locked to one system and what about all the systems with no station to dock the ship, or for that matter they systems without factorys to make it as it cant fly in to a new system

I'd imagine the ship can be packaged just like any other ship, and moved via freighter to another system.
I think this sort of ship would have very limited use though, and due to the in-system restriction, wouldn't see much flight time and be a general waste of dev time that could've been spent on something more useful.
