If you havn't already done this, try clearing your cache directory. You can do this by renaming to cache directory to something else ( cachebackup ) or simply deleting the directory. NOTE: if you have your instas in nice folders, doing this will mean you will have to redo those folders.
If your pc is bluescreening, then rebooting, try turning off your in game sound.
Hope this helps.

My Client is randomly crashing to desktop too, since yesterday. Never experienced such problems before. Drivers are all up to date & temperature problems haven't occured.

Try disabling sound. If this solves your crashing issues (which it does in 95% of cases) then you should roll your driver back to the last good version that worked with Eve.
One of the most frustrating things in Eve this - can't believe it's still a problem... hint hint CCP.

For the last 5 months i'd not a single problem with my current driver setup... also temperature isn't a problem. Sound is disabled.
Updated all drivers and made a fresh install of the game with no positive result.

I play EVE for six month now and I have never had any problems. But suddenly the problems came and it's quite annoying. One of the time it crashed a message popud up saying:
Runtime Error
R6025 - pure virtual function call
I don't know what this means.

Whats been happening here since about Saturday (17 Jun) appears to have something to do with overheats, but I can't say that with any certainty. EVE runs for various lengths of time then just freezes totally. And its not just the game, but the entire PC. No crashes to desktop, nothing. The reboot is clean with no coredumps. Logic tells me its hardware, yet its the only game that causes this. Other high-end graphics games don't cause problems.
Any thoughts?

I also have been getting this problem only just recently. I would say about 95% of the time it is an instant reboot. Flying in space one second, watching POST/Bios the next. Very rarely, I get a video freeze with screetching audio afterwhich I must hit the power button.
This last time, after the crash reboot... I entered my login information, and immediately after I hit enter key, I got the instant reboot again.
I started by rolling back drivers, crash, then reinstalling eve, crash, then reformating my pc, crash, then alternate drivers, crash. I am running out of things I know to try.
Someone in game has suggested I clear my cache/MachoNet folder. I have just done that, and and I will go play/test until crash. My last option will be to disable sound, and play/test until crash. After that, all I can do is come to the forums to ***** about how I pay a monthly fee for a great game, that crashes regularly blah blah blah...
If the answer is that I need to buy a newer/newest generation video card, at least I would know what the problem is.
Please spend some time right now and look at this problem if you are not already doing so. This is happening to plenty of people. I see it in every chat channel I play in... "game just crashed on me."
I mean no disrespect. I love your game. I just want it to work better for me.
Thank you for listening.

if any of you have a sound blaster audigy disable that devise I ihad to take mine out of the PC and EVE works just fine. Make sure you take the drivers out also. even with sound disabled it was causing issues with CTD at random. CCP says it is a hardware issue Creative says not their problem so .. But that is the best workaround that I had for my CTD problems.
