Why are they so opposed to direct action? They werenĘt in the Caldari Gallente War when the Gallente sent a war fleet to decimate the Caldari Homeworld and civilian cities in response to a terrorist attack. That war is long over, yet still the Gallente sit on the Caldari Homeworld like a race of overgrown maggots. I would rank the Actions of the Gallente Government below those of M0o. At least M0o doesnĘt go around bombarding planets or pretending to be things it isnĘt!
If the Gallente wish to wipe the impression that they are outspoken hypocrites, let them cease trade with the Amarr and Khanid slavers, or surrender the Caldari Homeworld to the Caldari!

Why should we stop trading with the Ammar, we trade with Caldari and we used to be enemies. The fact is, while most Gallente don't believe in slavery we also don't think it's right to have wars over it and claim the lives of millions of slaves and citizens. If the slaves will be free it should be through diplomacy and internal changes within the Ammar empire it'self.

The essence of Gallente Hypocracy!
Did you even read my post? You trade with Amarr, therefore support slavery, yet when there was a terrorist attack by some fanatical Caldari group you went and destroyed our cities, taking millions of innocent lives.
According to your idealogy you are against slavery; there are Gallente slaves. While the minmatar fight the Amarr, you Gallente choose to aid them!

A thread of interesting opinion. It seems as if tho one of the Caldari, our long time brothers in arms, has seen fit to himself decide what is right or no.
On the other hand the Fool asks the Gallente to become active in interstellar politics.
This peon thinks his worthless words and ideas can change anything.

Amarr fool, this thread was aimed at the Gallente. Don't meddle in politics you dont understand, the amarr example was to be used to reinforce the Caldari Prime example.

Honestly, should we boycott the Minmatar because we don't agree with their stink? Just because one empire does something another does not like does not mean we should cease doing business with them. Cutting off the Amarrians will hurt us more than it hurts them. Do they really need us?

It is called a double standard, and is my point. First you believe that Caldari citizens should not suffer for the acts of some Caldari terrorists, but then you you think that innocent Amarrian citizens should suffer for the actions of slave traders.

What's the problem? Can't refute the fact that you yourself are a hypocrite, so you resort to this?
As for me going against Gallente ideology, that should be expected by now. You of all people should understand that you should not judge someone by blood alone, he who goes against his allies the Amarr.

It is time to enlighten you my friend.
First off, stopping all trade between the Amarr and Gallente people will hurt the Caldari aswell. As you undoubtly know as the political mastermind you think you are, Caldari megacorps are as much dependant on Gallente-Amarr trade as they are on their own direct trading with other empires. It is easy to swing around boycots like this when it doesn't affect you, but are you prepared to suffer the consequences yourself now you know this?
This however, is not the real problem. You seem to think that the Federation proceeded to drive the Caldari from their homeworld just because a terrorist group flooded a submerged city? I'm afraid there is more to it than just that Mr. Demerzel.
In those days long past, the Caldari and Gallente people operated under a joint federation. They planned to explore and colonize the galaxy together, to share the burden and the rewards. The Caldari megacorps weren't very happy with this apparantly, because they proceeded to settle hidden outposts and bases in secret. They wanted to exploit the riches of the unexplored galaxy themselves and certainly not share them with the Federation. The Caldari government was very well aware of this, but what is the Caldari government anyway, except a puppet of their beloved megacorps?
Ofcourse, after the discovery of this treacherous behaviour by the Caldari, the Federation justly demanded a full scale investigation and immediate authority over these settlements, but the megacorps refused. They felt their freedom had been cut down too much already while the Caldari people were part of the Federation and decided to sit tight, not willing to give away anything.
Soon the Caldari set out to blockade the stargates leading to their private properties and in return the Federation blockaded Caldari Prime. There lived a sizeable population of Gallenteans on Caldari Prime, and due to this blockade the local Caldari became restless. This led to a certain group of Caldari fanatics sabotaging the protective dome of the submerged Gallente city of Nouvelle Rouvenor and thereby killing millions of people.
The Federation responded decisively and wiped the Caldari off their planet, which might have been a little harsh, but it was not like the Caldari didn't have it coming. (ooc| Imagine what the United States would do if Japan nuked San Francisco from the face of the Earth.)
Now that that is out of the way, tell me this Mr. Demerzel: We all know that the Ishukone and Hosokawa corporations have factories in Amarr space. Have you ever gone there and checked up on the employees? Who do you think work there? Only Caldari and Amarr? Are you that naieve?
How you dare to accuse *anybody* of hypocracy is beyond me. Next you'll be going around accusing Minmatar of being too schemey, that they plot things behind everybodies backs or maybe you will accuse the Jovians of not sharing their technology with us and being greedy? Or god forbid, that Gallenteans are overprotective of their people?
Hahaha, I'm sorry Mr. Demerzel, but you are one of the comical figures I met to date, be it intentional or not.

... Is that what they teach the young Gallente in schools nowadays?
Mr. Seqi, two quick points if i might.
a) there is no such thing as unified 'Caldari government'. Because of its non-existence, it cannot of course be 'a puppet of megacorps'.
b) the Caldari were not 'wiped off their planet' which is probably very fortunate for you... otherwise i cannot imagine a federation which claims it stands for democracy and freedom of its members, to continue with such moral burden. Instead, the population of Caldari Prime was evacuated to safety while the great Gallentean navy was tied for weeks first fighting the limited --but superior-- Caldari forces, and then chasing handful of ships led by our Admiral Tovil-Toba, until his final suicidal dive into Gallente Prime.
edit: oh, and also:
""In those days long past, the Caldari and Gallente people operated under a joint federation. They planned to explore and colonize the galaxy together, to share the burden and the rewards. The Caldari megacorps weren't very happy with this apparantly, because they proceeded to settle hidden outposts and bases in secret. Am afraid you have the history somewhat backwards here. The 'hidden outposts and bases' were by no means hidden, and neither were they established during the time Caldari were part of the Federation.
Au contraire, with the joint Caldari-Gallente invention of jumpgate technology preceeding the origins of Federation by at least a hundred of years, those colonies were well formed by the time Caldari and Gallente became an union. The Gallenteans simply weren't informed of their existence, as there was no need for it -- these were, after all, purely Caldari business.
'Twas nothing but the Gallenteans' desire to meddle into those purely Caldari affairs that resulted in the war. But i guess 'tis something so deep in your nature, your race simply cannot help themselves....
... hope it helps in the... enlightenment, as you call it. :s

Where any of you people actually IN the Gallente - Caldari war? Where you in any way hurt by its passing?
I dont think so seeing as you'd have to be 93 even if you where born right at the end of that war, and none of you look that old to me.
What I do not understand is why our two races are still bickering over a war which ended almost a century ago.
Demerzel: if everyone stopped trading with eachother then half the technology currently installed on your ship would be either illegal or non-existant. The four soverignties are symbiotically connected to eachother. If one falls or breaks contact then the rest will suffer.
The only exception to this seems to be the Jovians, but their isolationist policy seems to have so far kept them away from any political issues with the rest of us.

Funny thing is that most of Minmattar agnets working for minmatar corporations and in my case for Republic Justice Department also provide other services.
I am yet to find level 1 Minmattar agent that does not provide (sell) slaves.
