I was told by a friend that EVE is no longer doing any updates or patches to any fixes. Can someone verify? I dont want to start something to find out the game dead....thanks

Well seeing as there was just a 6 hr downtime to do a static DB update following up the content patch of last tuesday which was the 3d in the bloodlines patch sequence... which in turn is setting up events for Kali which will include at least another years worth of new content..
Umm no. Eve is not dead.

Thanks that was what I was hoping. I have been playing for 5 days now and am really enjoying the game so I was extremely disappointed when he told me about the game endingà.thanks I now have a new hope.

First, Eve has consistantly increased it's user base over the past year. They're at over 120K as of the last info the devs gave us.
They are in the process of beta testing a whole new server for China(they have some strict rules they have to abide by, which is why the China players won't use this server) which in the BETA had more people online with more accounts made then we have on this server.
So they're about to drastically increase their player base.
They're in the midst of doing a Full upgrade on the existing client, as well as makeing a whole new one to take advantage of DX10 and windows Vista for next year.
Basically, they're doing better then ever.. and the future looks bright :)

Oh that gave me a good laugh...  I can just imagine this twelve year old, who's never played an MMOG that didn't have fluffy Taurons, and he says; "EVE? Never heard of it, can you be a Paladin? It's prbbly one of those old dead games that don't have any players"
