Dreadnaughts kill stationary targets.
Carriers kill everything.
Any other questions? ___________________________ |

I have absolutely no idea, and as such, will share a quote I saw elsewhere.
"Carriers are like the most expensive swiss-army knife of space"
Can't verify that...I just bought a battlecruiser, but hey....
Why did I post here?

* Is used for Carriers AND Motherships. * More expensive skill to balance out ship price (compared to Dread, expensive, but cheap skill).
Personally, Id rather the skills for all ships were more expensive if it meant a drop in ship prices.

Edited by: betazero on 22/06/2006 13:11:38 Edited by: betazero on 22/06/2006 13:10:39 costs 925mil to buy every skill to fly a carrier if you never had any of the cap ship skills this is taking into account fighters skill , jump drive ops , cap armor rep skill etc btw
just because its the skill for motherships to doesnt make it right btw , 90% of people who fly carriers probably will never have a mothership

I know it sounds a bit expensive, but if you plan on flying a carrier, the cost of the skillbooks shouldn't be that great, unless you plan on keeping the carrier docked or you think it will never get destroyed.

if you can afford to buy a carrier (cost of 1 bil), it isn't that hard to raise another billion to buy the skills.
I like the current system, because otherwise it would be far too easy to fly a capital ship

i allready have them on my other character so even if they did change the price of carrier skill it wouldnt benefit me in anyway. i just thought i would mention the total cost incase some people didnt realise just how expensive it is

Slight change: if you can afford to lose a carrier (and all its fittings) ....
Its really not that bad in isk prices for the skillbooks for a character who has been around long enough to genuinely be gearing up to purchase, fly and replace capital ships and their fittings. The cost is there as a bar to players who can't really afford to fly them. If you want to be among the best - pay up!
(PS: no carrier pilot that I personally know who actually flies one regrets paying the price - that in itself should tell you something).

Capital ships are used for alliances. They are your Big guns. The skills should cost a fortune.
Dreads arn't as useful as Carriers imo, and the skill makes you mothership compliant. If the skill were 90 million or less then an alliance would have a lot of potential mothership piltos to choose from.
I like the skill price where it is. I currently own and can fly dreads, but I haven't bought the carrier skill yet. When I'm about to get a carrier I'll buy one.
The skills are just out of the price range for the small corp that can just sc*****enough cash together to buy a carrier...
The carrier is not meant for those players, no capital ships are.

It's a lazy way to attempt to curb inflation on the part of the devs, they can't come up with a real solution, so make skills uber expensive. ISK Sink, nothing more to it.
